Stockholm Syndrome Caper #23

Carmen is stranded in the snowdrift after being surrounded by ACME while on a mission. You're able to get to her despite Chief being present. Will she arrest you both or let you go?

I'm currently dressed as Carmen as a decoy to lead ACME away from her. Whatever it takes to make sure the mission goes on successfully without any interruptions right? Carmen told me she was going to talk to Julia in the bell tower to try and convince her we cannot under any circumstances have any interruptions from ACME. Again, which is why I'm fooling them with this disguise to buy her some time. However, I slipped on the icy ground and they clicked on that I was just a decoy. Carmen told us through the ear piece that the bell tower was suddenly piling in with ACME agents. Crap. This is happening all because of a slip up. Literally. 

Zack went to rescue Ivy which left me to go get Carmen. I saw Carmen gliding away from the bell tower but something looks off. It's like she's not in control. Quickly realising she's going to crash into a snowdrift, I rush over as fast as I could run. If she's fine she'll climb out of there easily. But once I am in clear sight of the snowdrift, I see her attempting to pull herself out but falls back down. That can mean only one thing. She's badly injured. God, I'm such an idiot! My screw up caused this! 

Looking from the top of the cliff point of the snowdrift, I don't care about staying out of sight unlike Zack and Ivy. I rush straight over to her despite Chief being there in hologram form. I expect Chief to arrest us both there and then but she gives Carmen an option. Go with them to get medical care, or go with us. It doesn't surprise me when Carmen chooses us. With that they leave us to get Carmen to a hospital. Of course, Carmen doesn't want to go to a hospital. She claims it's an easy spot for VILE to capture her and take her back to the island. So, we make our way back home. 

Time Skip 

Once back home, I help Carmen to her room so she can rest. If she's not going to get medical help, this is the next best thing. Rest and pain killers. Anyways, while she is resting, I'm sat on the sofa in the lounging area of the HQ talking to Player and the others about our next mission. Of course, as soon as Carmen hears the word mission she tries to persuade me to let her go. "No, not in your condition. You need to rest." I keep telling her. Zack and Ivy said they'll take this one since Shadow San is out on a mission elsewhere already. 

The next day, the twins are gone which just leaves me and Carmen. Unsurprisingly, she's already restless and refuses to sleep. So, I might as well suggest to do something with her... but what? Then I get an idea. "Hey Carm, how about a movie day since we're stuck here?" I call over to her as she sits on the sofa while I'm in the kitchen. "I suppose." She doesn't seem thrilled at the idea but it's better than moping around, or at least that's how she sees it. "Wanna watch anything in particular?" I ask her as I get some snacks and drinks for us. "How about a Hunger Games movie marathon?" "Sounds good to me." I say and turn the first movie on easily enough since it's on Netflix. 

As we get up to the part where they're all training to go into the arena, I hadn't realised how close Carmen had gotten to me. Scratch that, she was cuddled right into me with her head on my chest. How did I not notice that? I guess that's what happens when you're so engrossed in the movie. "You know you didn't have to do that." She says randomly which causes me to raise my eyebrow. "Do what?" I ask in response. "Be by my side when Chief could have arrested us at the spot. You risked your neck for me." I shrugged trying to hide my blush. "You'd have done the same for any of us." "That's true but I noticed the twins stayed further back while you came over to me. Someone only does something as crazy as that as an act of love." My eyes widened in shock. "What... what are you... talking about?" I say giving myself away. Wait what do I mean by that? Do I really love her? Is that why I did what I did for her? "You really are clueless aren't you y/n." At this point I really don't know what to do or say. Would she reject me? Would she want me off the team? What would happen? She manages to quickly shut down anymore thoughts by grabbing my cheek and turning my face to look at her. My heart rate definitely sped up as she she leaned in and kissed me. Man, this is something I could get used to. Maybe if we end up together, missions will become that more exciting too. 

Ending this one here. This is the last of my requests to upload. Any smut requests I have ignored as I don't write smut. Anyway, Carmen one shots will now officially be discontinued!
