A/N - Okay, so this is my first ever Carmen Sandiego fanfic. I started and finished the whole Netflix series in three days! Haha. Anyway, since there are not many x reader fics for her, it was hard to write this and I will vary how I write it. This episode is based on season 3 - The Masks of Venice Caper so expect SPOILERS! Though I have not completely stuck to the episode storyline. (Any Italian translations was used by Google translate so if there are any mistakes let me know). I will also upload any random images if I can't find any decent ones relating to the episode I write about, if it's based on an ep of course.
It is the day of Carnavle in Venice, Italy and Team Red are going to be partaking in the autumn event. Currently, though, they are meeting up with Shadowsan and arriving via boat.
While there, Zack as usual is obsessing over what food they have. He tries everything he can before they begin their mission to move historical masks in order to protect them from thieves but they have to steal them to protect them. Ah, the irony.
Anyway, Carmen watches people pass in case she can spot the one who plans to steal them. Then she sees Time Bomb performing on the streets. Meanwhile, Zack and Ivy spot Neal the Eel and give chase as do Carmen and Shadowsan with the mime.
As Carmen and Shadowsan chases Mime Bomb, they notice the others chasing the eel. They group together and chase them both. Unfortunately, while running, Carmen bumps into someone causing both of them to fall to the ground. "Mi dispiace. I'm sorry." Carmen says looking up to the woman she had knocked over. She looked up at her and she immediately felt butterflies in her stomach but quickly shook it off as nothing.
The woman stands up and helps Carmen up too. "Va bene. It is fine." She says. "Who-who are you?" Is Carmen's response. "My name is y/n l/n. What about you?" "Call me Carmen." She answered and they shake hands. "Wanna get a coffee or something as soon as I've finished what I'm doing?" Carmen asks nervously although she is oblivious as to why she is nervous. "Of course. I'd love to. Caffe Florian?" "I'll be there in an hour or so." Carmen says with a smirk. "É un appuntamento. It's a date."
An hour later and y/n arrives at the cafe and waits for Carmen to show. Meanwhile Carmen, Zack and Ivy are hiding from Chase and Zari from ACME. Carmen and Shadowsan enter a museum via a window while Zack poses as a museum curator to distract the ACME agents. Unfortunately they are caught in the act, Carmen too and she and Shadowsan have to face off Neal the Eel once again.
After they secured the masks and returned it to its rightful home and give the ACME agents the slip, Carmen told the others she had something to attend too. No one questioned her as she took off.
Y/n on the other hand waited in the cafe for at least an hour. She was about to give up hope that the girl in red was ever going to show. Then, at the entrance of the cafe appeared a woman in a red trench coat and fedora. Y/n lets out a sigh of relief when she sees she has not been stood up.
"Sorry I'm late. There were a few complications." Y/n nodded in understanding. Carmen orders herself a drink and the two begin talking to one another getting to know each other. "So, how long are you in Italy?" Y/n asks. "Until I am needed else where. How about you? Do you live here or on vacation?" "I actually travel the world by myself. I can't stand the idea of being stuck in one place for the rest of my life. Sounds silly I know." "No, I completely understand. Me and my friends are always moving from country to country. We've been to lots of places." This intigued y/n. "What kind of places have you guys been?" "Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, Japan and all sorts of other places. You know, you could come along for the trip if you like." "Really? But I don't really know you or your friends." "Well, consider it a way to get to know each other but I will warn you, it can be dangerous." This made y/n smirk, "If there's danger, sign me up. I need a life of adventure because lately nothing interesting has really happened. What will we be doing that is dangerous?"
Carmen explained her situation with VILE and ACME and that she, Zack, Ivy and Shadowsan return stolen priceless objects with the help of their techy friend, Player. She asked if y/n was still on board and she was all for this sort of life. "Okay, but like what is your full name. Surely you have a full name, right?" "Of course, my full name is Carmen Sandiego." Y/n's eyes widened. "The Carmen Sandiego? The illusive thief that many people are out to get even though she is on the side of good?" "Yep, that's me." Carmen answered with a smirk and lowered her fedora with her hand slightly.
Y/n was rather excited that she was going to be working alongside the Carmen Sandiego. "Do you have any special skills or would we need to train you up?" Carmen asked. "I used to do various martial arts so I would easily be able to stand up for myself if I needed to." "Perfect. It's always handy to have extra help on the field." Y/n smiled and was ready to start a new life full of epic adventures and hopefully a new life with Carmen, eventually.
Ending this one here. Not feeling confident on this one even though it is like I said my first one based on her. I will hopefully improve as I go on because this is a new type of writing altogether for me so bear with me. Anyways, if you have any requests for Carmen, let me know.
