Sick Day #9

You're sick. You're coughing and sneezing and later on throwing up. Luckily, Carmen is there to help comfort you. (She's also your girlfriend).

I sit on the shared bed of the fancy hotel ensuite with my girlfriend Carmen. She puts a movie on the TV and I begin coughing and sneezing. "S-still?" She questions. "Unfortunately. It's been on and off for a while now." You answer. "Maybe you should try and sleep. We can watch a movie anytime." You nod in response and lie down and cuddled into her while she's still sitting up. It wasn't long before you were able to get to sleep.

It only got worse when you woke up in the middle of the night to your stomach churning. You got up and rushed to the bathroom and lifted up the toilet seat. You thought you had managed to stay quiet enough but when you throw up, jeez is it loud. And you knew you had woken up Carmen when the bathroom light was turned on.

Carmen immediately rushed to your side when she woke up and realised you were being sick. She held back your hair and rubbed your back gently to help comfort you a little. And yes, it did help a little. When you had finally managed to stop spewing up your food from that day, Carmen spoke. "Why don't you brush your teeth and have a drink. I'll get the hot water bottle to help your stomach." "You packed a hot water bottle for a mission?" You question with a raised eyebrow as you stood up and begin brushing your teeth. "Hey, I like to be prepared." She answers with a gentle smile and searches through her bag.

The sound of the hot water boiling in the kettle a few minutes later was good enough proof that she found it. By the time you finished brushing your teeth, you ambled over to the bed and sat with your back leaning against the headboard. Carmen came back to the bed and handed you the warm hot water bottle. I sighed contentedly as it was already helping relax your stomach. "Why is it these things work really well?" You ask eyes feeling droopy all of a sudden. "Not sure. Guess it's the warmth helping to relax the muscles or something. You just get some rest." And sure enough with the hot water bottle against your stomach and being wrapped in Carmen's arms, you were asleep pretty quick.

Morning rolled around much to quickly for your liking. The light shining through the curtains was enough to wake you. However, you were surprised to find Carmen was no longer in bed with you. Then you heard the sound of the shower and knew she was getting ready for the day. Normally you would join her but of course being sick, you wouldn't want to risk her catching your cold or flu. You can never tell the difference as they are both awful for you. But the main reason you don't want Carmen getting sick is because she the main woman who does all the action. You didn't want to be the cause of her getting sick and having to delay/miss the mission. So, you stayed in bed and fell back sleep knowing she would be back afterwards. Her missions are always successful, especially since it is just a recon mission to start with. These thoughts begin to fade as you fall into a deeper sleep.
