Carmen's Ghost #21

You are a ghost that's been by Carmen's side ever since she left VILE. You only let her feel your presence whenever her life is in danger. You also let her see you after Coach Brunt also nearly kills her.

A/N - This one is based on Carmen's POV the whole way through! And there maybe a bit of angst if you think the ending is angst but it might not be I'm not sure. (NOT PROOF READ)

Carmen POV: 

Ever since I left VILE, I've felt an unexplainable presence by my side during every mission. It's not something I fear like most people would. In fact, I feel this presence is the reason I was able to escape and get out of my missions alive that were close calls. I have no other explanation as to how I survived them. Of course, I don't tell the others, they'll think I've gone loopy. So, I've always kept it to myself. It's kind of like that situation where Coach Brunt had me overpowered and I thought she really was going to kill me. 

When Shadow San came to my rescue, I felt that presence again. I should probably mention that the times I feel the presence is when my life is in danger. At first, I thought it was Shadow San that helped me alone and he thought he was too but then when I looked back, I saw a girl. She just stood there as Coach Brunt heard the sirens and saw the unknown girl. "You, your the cause of this! I don't know what you are but you'll pay!" The girl just rolled her eyes at Brunt. It also looked like Coach was trying to escape but for whatever reason couldn't move. The girl smiles at me in a way that says you're safe now. 

I ask Shadow San to take me some place that's hidden but in a place so that I can see what happens to Coach Brunt. Needless to say it was well worth it because she was arrested. Knowing VILE though they'll send in the cleaners to pick her up. Can't imagine the other faculty members being to pleased with her. 

After talking with Shadow San and trying to get him to join me, Zack and Ivy, he refuses and before I know it he disappears. I'll never understand why he doesn't join us since he's escaped from VILE. Speaking of, they'll be looking for a replacement and it won't be long before they send operatives out to kill him. But now he is gone, it is probably time I join up with Zack and Ivy again and set up a headquarters. I have the perfect place in mind. 

Time Skip 

Once the new HQ is set up, I feel the presence again. That girl must be close by then. I should probably thank her for saving my life back there. As if on cue, I see her just outside the building of the HQ. Zack and Ivy are working on Lydia (their sports car not that I need to say) so I take the opportunity to talk to this mysterious person. 

When I'm outside, the girl starts wandering off so I follow her. She takes me towards the forest, a quiet place. Maybe she knows it's the perfect place to talk. Eventually, she stops in the middle of a pathway in between trees. "Who are you? Why have you been following me?" I ask. "My name is y/n. I'm your... spirit guide I guess." Whoa, I've never thought this before but her voice is so hypnotising. "Are you able to change like that so everyone can see you?" I ask. "Of course and I can allow only the ones who I want to be seen by to see me." That actually explains a lot. "So, when you say spirit guide, you're a ghost?" She nods at me. There are so many questions I want to ask her but I know the first one to ask. "Why don't you join me and my friends on our mission? Just let them see you so they won't think I'm crazy." She's silent at first so I think she's going to refuse. Surprisingly, she agrees and walks with me back into HQ. 

"Guys?" I call out to the twins who immediately look up at me. Then, they turn to y/n who is stood on my left. Good, she's allowing them to see her. "This is y/n. She's a ghost." "No way, you're not a ghost." Ivy says. "How did you die?" Zack questions making the conversation suddenly awkward. "That's not any of your business." Y/n says finally breaking the silence. "How long exactly have you been following me?" I ask her. "Ever since you escaped from VILE." If that's the case, I can only assume she was killed in VILE. Poor girl. She only looks to be about my age too. So, she died very young. 

I walk back to my room after that realisation. It wasn't long before y/n followed me, not that I'm surprised by it anymore. "Please don't leave me with those two alone. Especially Zack I think he said his name was. They just kept throwing questions at me. Questions I prefer not to answer." I just stay silent and watch her as she complains about the twins. "Also, I think I know the answer as to why I feel the need to stick around you constantly." She continues. I raise my eyebrow and stare at her waiting for her to continue. 

"See this mark on my wrist?" It's of a crescent moon. I'm still not following where she's getting at though. "Ever wonder why you have one of a star on your wrist?" My eyes widen. "How do you know about that?" I ask her. "I've seen it plenty of times. For some reason people don't tend to notice it. But... if my theories are correct, then this will change everything." "What theories?" She doesn't answer me but instead moves her wrist with the crescent moon next to my wrist with the star. I'm speechless as to what happens next. They start glowing a silvery blue colour. "Why are they glowing and how?" "My theories are confirmed, marks like this will only ever glow when you've met your soulmate." "Soulmate? Huh, so I'm guessing that's why you felt the need to stick around after your spirit left VILE?" 

"So, what happens now?" I ask her uncertain. "Well, if you touch me, I should warn you, you will become like me. So, that decision is entirely up to you. But no matter what you decide, I'll stick around and wait." She means I have to die if I want to properly be with her? I... I don't know. VILE is still out there. I won't rest until they're destroyed. Hmm, I could always send in ACME as soon as I convince them we're on their side. "Tell you what, let me destroy VILE now that I have a plan in mind and then we can be together." Y/n nods and she speaks again, "Sounds fine by me. And you have me as an advantage. I can make it so they cannot escape like you saw with Coach Brunt." Wow, destroy VILE and spend the rest of my life, or afterlife, with my newly found soulmate. It sounds bliss. All the more reason to finish my mission sooner. 

Ending this one here. What did you all think? I can write a second part where they destroy VILE and Carmen explains to Zack and Ivy and they're supportive of her going with her soulmate.
