Long Time No See #19

Carmen is shocked to learn you have returned from a mission from years ago. She even thought you were dead. How will she feel about you being back? Will she still want to be with you or leave you? (Based on Carmen's POV)

Today was just like any other day at the compound. Zack and Ivy tinkering on their race car, Shadow San gathering information for his next mission off Player while I'm punching away at the old punching bag. Little did I know that when Ivy came barging into the gym room that everything was going to change.

Ivy stormed into the gym claiming that there was a girl wanting to see you, claiming that she was my girlfriend. "What did she say her name was?" I asked which seemed to catch Ivy off guard. "Err she didn't. Maybe you should come and see for yourself. Smells like VILE if you ask me." She says suspiciously. I roll my eyes and wrap a towel round my shoulders and take my water bottle with me.

Though when I entered the living area of HQ, there she was. The one person I have kept secret from the others. Mostly because I thought she would never return. More to the point, I thought she was dead. We escaped VILE together but then a month later, she snuck back in for a mission to gather intel on something big they were planning but never came back. I assumed she had been caught and they killed her. And the girl I am talking about, you'll see.

"Carm, long time no see." She speaks. "Y/n." Is all I can say. I don't know if I want her hug her, kiss her or slap her. "Wait you know her then?" Zack asks shocked. That's when I decided it was time to tell them.

"Wait so since the two of you never officially broke up, does that mean you're still together?" Player surprisingly asks from the other side of the screen. "Well, that depends on you Carm." I sat there unable to speak for a moment but finally manage to talk. "I think this is something to be talked about alone." I tell y/n getting up from the sofa with her trailing behind me into my room.

Silence. Awkward silence once we got into my room because neither of us knew what to say. "I know the mission was only meant to be a month but every time I kept coming close to finding out what was going on, they grew suspicious of me, so I had to play along even longer. I barely made it out alive but as soon as I was out, I began searching for you." I raised my eyebrow and said, "So, why did it take so long to find me?" "Every time I landed in the location you and your friends were in, you were just leaving ,and it kept happening until I learned you'd set up a headquarters here."

My brain tries to process everything y/n has just said to me. There's just one question in mind. "How did you find out where we'd set up HQ?" "Chief." "Wait, so you work for ACME now?" I asked surprised by the fact she even knew who ACME was. "Not quite. I reached out to her and told her about our past and what we really do. To put it simply, you don't have to run from ACME anymore." "Okay but how did you find out about ACME's existence in the first place?" I ask her. "I overheard Coach Brunt talking about an ACME agent killing your father. So, I gathered all the intel from that day he was killed and found out who both your parents are. I even have a file." She indeed pulls out a file and hands it to me. "Should you choose." She then says and leaves the room.

She... what? She found my parents and who killed my father? My question now is, do I open the folder and find out? If I do it would send me on a path of revenge to get back at whoever killed my father. But is my mother still alive? For now, I place the folder in the draw of my bedside cabinet. Maybe another day. But the fact y/n managed to do all that. I think I know now I want to both hug and kiss her. While she may have been gone for years, she never forgot about me and the best part for me, she's not dead and I can have her back the way we were just with a few improvements to our lives. 

Ending this one here. This is defo different to what I usually write but it was fun and want to progress on this sort of writing to eventually be able to do my own stories where someone returns after many years.
