Infinity's pov

The sound he let out was absolutely primal as he stood in a blur of motion.

"Who?" His voice like ice as his fingers gripped the dresser hard enough to splinter the wood.

"Grey?"

"Who?" he repeated, his eyes dancing with fire and malice.

"The alpha-" I flinched back into the bed as he shifted and let out a loud howl before thundering out of the room, leaving a trail of shocked men in his wake.

He was going to kill them, and get himself killed in the process.

"Stop him," I whispered to Sam, who stood wide eyed in the doorway," stop him before he gets himself killed!"

They'd poisoned those rogues, poisoned me! They were brutal and his death would not be quick at their hands. They had plans, plans that we were largely unprepared for.

Sam nodded and blinked a few times as if registering what I'd said.

"Go!" I snarled with the last energy I was able to muster.

"Infinity? What's going on?" His mother tentatively stepped into the room.

"He's going to find them, and he's going to get himself killed," my hands felt cold, numb actually. I couldn't chase him even if I'd wanted to, my wolf was nowhere to be found.

"What do you mean?" Her eyes glistened as she sat next to me. I felt my own begin to water.

"I mean if he makes it out of this territory, they're going to kill him to get back at me," the tears started and I gladly accepted her shoulder to cry on. Please Sam, please stop him.

Brianna sat on my other side, rubbing my back gently, her fingers carefully avoiding the tender wounds.

"Sam will stop him," she whispered softly, but her face was drawn.

"This is all my fault," I buried my face into my hands.

"Honey, no, no, no, this is not your fault okay? This is not your fault," His mother gingerly wrapped her arm around my shoulders," they did this, they caused both of you so much suffering, and for that they deserve what they have coming. But not today, not if you think he's at more risk than they are. They'll stop him Infinity, they'll stop him" she sounded more like she was reassuring herself.

Suddenly their comforting hands hurt and words became overwhelming. I knew I had to get away before I snapped at them.

"I need a shower, Brianna would you help me?" There was no way I could walk that far, not with the bit of wolfsbane left in my system, and there was still blood matted into my hair.

She nodded and helped me out of bed. Her face paled slightly as she looked at my bare legs, at the assortment of scars that dotted them. "They did that?" Her voice was quiet, small even.

"And worse," a lump formed in my throat and I swallowed, hard.

"You know you gave Sam a direct order as his Luna, that voice you used in there, that was the voice of an alpha," a whisper of a smile tugged at her lips as she guided me down the hall, baring her teeth at the remaining men if they looked at me for longer than a millisecond.

I stepped into the shower, he'd been in here earlier. The smell of his soap still lingered. I turned the water on and ran my hands across the cracked shower ledge. When had he done that? I sighed and picked up the shampoo, pouring  some into my hands and lathering it into my scalp. The water that washed down the drain was muddled with brown and red, and it reeked of blood.

I washed my hair three times, watching as the water ran slightly clearer each time.

"You okay in there?" Brianna tapped on the door.

I nodded before realizing she couldn't see me.

"Fine" I choked out against the steam.

I washed my hair one last time before stepping out and shutting the water off. I wrapped one of the obnoxiously large towels around me and slid to sit on the floor near the door.

"Do you think Sam will actually catch him?"

"Yes, I'm just worried that he may try to kill Sam for stopping him," she sighed and I could tell she was also sitting on the floor.

"He wouldn't, not if I ordered it, would he?" I didn't know just how far into his anger Grey was, but I sincerely hoped I hadn't just signed Sam's death certificate.

"I don't know," she answered honestly, not sugarcoating anything.

"Would you-would you go get me one of his shirts?" I'd forgotten to grab clothes on my way in here.

She didn't respond but I heard foot steps down the hall.

Please let him be okay, he has to be okay.

"Here," she cracked the door and handed me a shirt, some underwear, and a pair of shorts. I quickly pulled on the clothes, pausing only to inhale his scent on the shirt before slipping into it. I pulled the door open and let her slip an arm around me, carefully guiding me to the kitchen where the smell of food made my mouth water.

"Here, eat," his mother stuck a plate into my hands and busied herself with tidying the, already immaculate, kitchen.

I took a couple of bites and pushed the pasta around on my plate. It was really good, but I was too nervous to eat anything. Brianna did the same from beside me, undoubtedly worried about what Sam was doing. What I had ordered Sam to do.

"You two relax, he'll come to his senses," Grey's mother looked older in the sunlight of the dark kitchen, her hair streaked with silver and her face tired with frown lines etched above her brow.

"I hope it's before someone gets hurt," Brianna sighed, pushing herself out of the seat and going to stare out the window.
