Chapter 28

Grey's p.o.v.

"Infinity?" I caught her peeking around the corner and she immediately disappeared. It was like living with a scared animal, I could never find her and she avoided me like the plague. She stayed in the nursery most nights and had continued to take care of the twins but refused to talk to me. I decided to go upstairs and see if she was in the nursery. Unsurprisingly, the door was locked but I could hear her humming to herself. "Infinity? Please let me talk to you", I whispered. The door opened enough for her to peek through the crack and she looked at me expectantly. "I'm sorry, you're right. What I did was stupid and unforgivable. What I said was worse and I'm sorry. I let my anger control me and acted on impulse", I lowered my head and looked at the floor.
"I'm sorry too, I shouldn't have acted the way I did", she stood in front of me, the door wide open. A small smile pulled at her lips and she wrapped her arms around my waist and pulled me close. "I've missed this, I've missed you", she mumbled "Me too Princess", I responded my voice muffled slightly by her hair. Hazel began to cry, interrupting our moment. Infinity rushed in and picked her up, trying to soothe her to no avail. "Maybe she's hungry", I suggested. "No, she just ate right before you got here", she explained and continued trying to calm Hazel. "Maybe she wants you", Infinity gently placed Hazel in my arms and stood beside me. "Shhh shhh, hey everything's okay daddy's here, daddy's got you", I watched as she slowly stopped crying and her little hand moved up to rest on my cheek.
Jasper woke up and realized Hazel was missing, causing him to panic and begin wailing. "Hey, shhh shhh it's okay", Infinity picked him up and cradled him to her chest. She brought him over so he could see Hazel and he visibly relaxed. Jasper curled up against Infinity and laid his head on her shoulder. He cooed softly as his tiny hand clutched the fabric of Infinity's shirt. "I still can't believe we're parents", She mumbled looking down at a sleeping Jasper. "I know, it's incredible" I responded laying Hazel down and wrapping my arms around Infinity from behind.
She laid Jasper down and returned to my arms, laying her head on my shoulder. "Why don't we go out on a date tomorrow?", I asked feeling the need to make it up to her. "But what about the twins?", she asked nervously biting her lip. "We could leave them with my mom and Brianna, they'll be in good hands I promise", I took her hands and laced our fingers together. She still looked nervous as she glanced from me to the twins. "Please Princess, you deserve a break", I leaned down and pecked her lips. Suddenly, the doorbell rang causing Infinity to jump and hold me tighter. "We should go see who that is", I wrapped an arm around her waist and led her downstairs.
To my surprise there stood a sobbing Brianna. "Sa....could I stay here tonight?", she asked wrapping her arms around herself. "Of course, come in and have a seat", I responded opening the door and letting her in. "Bree, what happened? Who hurt you?", I asked as she sat down on the couch and Infinity handed her a glass of water. "Sa....Sam", she whimpered before bursting into tears again. "Oh Honey, it's okay", Infinity pulled her into a hug and held her tightly.
"I'm s..s..sorry", Brianna muttered pulling away and looking at her lap. "Don't be, you're welcome here anytime", I responded as I stood up. Infinity led Brianna to the guest room just as there was another knock on the door. I opened it to be met with a heartbroken Sam. "Is Brianna here?", he asked looking completely defeated. "What happened between you two?", I asked curiously. He sighed and made his way over to the couch. I closed the door and sat beside him. "We were out on a date when Tiffany appeared. It felt like she was following us. Then when we got to the restaurant she pinned me up against the wall and began kissing me. Bree saw and took off", he mumbled. "She's in the guest room, feel free to stay here tonight", I informed him as Infinity appeared beside me.
"Do you think they'll be okay?", Infinity asked, sitting in my lap and snuggling up to me. "I'm sure they'll work it out, they are mates after all", I kissed the side of her head and held her tightly. "Grey?",she asked quietly. "Yes Princess", I responded pulling her face up so that she was looking at me. Surprising me, she leaned up and pressed her lips to mine. I instantly took control of the kiss and turned us over so she was pinned beneath me. "Do you think these memories will ever fade?", she asked looking up at me with those wide eyes. "To be honest, no I don't think they'll ever go away completely", I sat up and pulled her back into my lap. "Okay", she responded looking up at me.
