Omniscient pov
Nijah sat in the waiting room for her checkup as she read one of the magazines.
"I'm so tired." Nijah said yawning as an elderly lady came and sat next to her then looked at her stomach then at her.
"If you don't mind me asking what are you having?" The lady said smiling and nijah looked at her.
"A girl." Nijah said.
"Wow is this your first?" She asked and nijah smiled nodding her head.
"Yeah she's my first." Nijah said.
"That's amazing your going to love motherhood it's so great." She said.
"I hope I do it's just me and her we don't have no one but eachother." Nijah said and the lady raised an eyebrow.
"Single mother?" She asked and nijah nodded her head.
"Don't worry about it I was a single mother of twins it was hard but you gotta do what you gotta do to survive, make sure you have a good job, and a roof over your head." She said.
"Well if McDonald's counts as a good job and a two bedroom apartment counts as a roof over our head I guess that's a good start." Nijah said and she nodded her head.
"Yup, your going to be a great mom." The lady said smiling and nijah looked back at her magazine until she heard Trey voice.
"Is this seat taken?" He asked her and she looked up at him.
"What are you doing here?" She asked as the elderly lady looked at Trey.
"This must be the baby father." She said and nijah shook her head.
"My daughter doesn't have a father." Nijah said squinting her eyes at trey.
"Don't listen to her she does have a dad I'm the dad nice meeting you?" Trey said then frowned waiting for the lady name.
"My names Arlene." She said.
"Nice meeting you Arlene I'm Trey." Trey said and Arlene reached in her bag grabbing a piece of paper and pen writing something on it then handing it to nijah.
"If you ever need any type of help give me a call, and I mean any I know how hard it is being in your situation." She said smiling standing up as her name was called.
"Thank you." Nijah said smiling as the old lady walked off.
Nijah sat back in her seat looking at Trey and shaking her head.
"Why are you here?" Nijah asked.
"Because your pregnant with my daughter are you not?" He asked and she laughed.
"Trey I'm 6 months pregnant I been doing it this far alone I can continue, the only reason you want to be in her life now is because you don't want to pay child support." Nijah said.
"Man that's not true alysa just been tripping." He said.
"I don't give a fuck about what alysa got going on this is our child I'm speaking about, she acts like I'm asking you to be a family I just want my daughter to have what I didn't a dad." She said.
"This wouldn't even be going on if you weren't a fucking liar." Nijah said.
"How am I a liar?" He asked.
"When we first met what did you tell me?" She asked and he sighed.
"Oh okay exactly ." She said.
