"i forgot how tiring this is" i say lying down on the middle of stage. we are just doing a quick soundcheck before fans start coming in.
"lazy" my brother tucker says, kicking my leg slightly as he stands over me. i roll my eyes at him and groan.
"billie eilish and her family are here" my security man says, i widen my eyes and quickly stand up wiping the dirt off my outfit.
"bring them round here we're just finishing up soundcheck" my mom says, and he nods.
i sort myself out and stand back behind my mic, running my nails through my hair. "the last song is wish i loved you in the 90s right?" i ask as the sound guy nods and my guitarist begins playing his acoustic.
"you said you'd never lie, but you did it anyway. so how am i supposed to feel when you said it so feel to my face. and you said you'd make a promise but a promise never stays. so how am i supposed to act when it's just how it is now a days.
"and i swear we kinda fell in love with the pain, and i'm scared we don't even know the right way. i wish i loved you in the 90s cause i know that we would work. say wrong place wrong time shoulda been alive bet it wouldn't hurt if i had loved you in the 90s back when life was in a blur. saying right guy right vibe wouldn't have to try bet it wouldn't hurt. if i had loved you in the 90s"
i open my eyes looking around seeing billie and her family stood there she has a massive smile on her face. wish i loved you in the 90s is one of my favourites so i'm happy she seems like she's enjoying it.
plus finneas is singing along so what could be better.
once i finish the song, the sound guys give me a thumbs up and one of them comes over to take my earpieces off. i walk over to billie and everyone who are already talking to my parents.
"that sounded great" finneas says, giving me a hug, followed by claudia.
before i even have time to pull away from them properly, billie throws her arms around me shoulders holding me tight. i smile and worm my hands around her waist gripping hold of her knitted jumper lightly.
looking over her shoulder my brother is there with his middle finger up at me and my mom looks like she's about to cry with happiness. rolling my eyes i hide my face in billies hair making her hold me ever so slightly tighter.
"sorry to interrupt but you guys need to get backstage, fans are coming in" my manager says making me pull away from billie. i nod and follow my mom who leads the way.
i walk in the dressing room, holding the door for finneas behind me. i walk over to a table, jumping up and sitting on it. billie, her brother and claudia all stand in front of me discussing something.
i notice billie looking me up and down biting her lip. she probably didn't expect me to notice but i did.
"i'm gonna go and find some bottles of water from somewhere" i tell them all and they nod.
"i'll come too" billie says, walking beside me and holding the door open a bit.
we walk the corridors finding the catering section , i knock on the door and a guy opens it. "hey where can we get some water" i ask and he smiles.
"wait right here and i'll go and get some, sorry we have been running out because it's been warm" he explains and i nod before he disappears.
i lean against the wall in the corridor, billie standing in front of me.
"i have a question" she says, moving closer to me and putting her hands on my waist, her warmth hitting my skin.
"go for it" i say, smiling a little, getting caught in her blue eyes.
"can i fuck off writing my album for a day and come to your show tomorrow as well" she asks.
"yeah of course you can, olivia rodrigo is coming too" i say and she nods.
"i don't care i just want to see you" she admits. is billie eilish flirting with me right now?
"ok" i mumble. "ok" she repeats, biting her lip.
"here you go guys" the guy says reappearing. billie takes her hand off my waist and we both grab a six pack of water, taking it back to the dressing room.
