Roman

I felt a stab of pain shoot through my chest. I couldn't move from where I was now because Nali was standing in front of me now. Scoffing at me like she's already won.

I looked around expecting Drew and Arlene to be here by now. It had already been ten minutes but nothing. Crystal was standing at Nali's left side looking impassive and unemotional. On Nali's right side was a man that I've seen her with on almost every encounter. Now it dawned on me that he must be very close with her.

The pain was still filling me. Something was wrong with Arlene,I realised.

Arlene. I called out in her mind.

Nothing.
Goddamnit Arlene! Answer me. I said feeling agitated.

Still Nothing.

Drew. I called out.

His mind was open.
Alpha I can't find her. She's just disappeared. He replied sounding distressed even in my mind.

Shit!

What do you mean Drew? My face tensed and I forgot about the crowd ahead of me,standing like they own the land their feet were on.

"Roman. Darling. Are you alright?" Nali spoke finally after offering me nothing but merciless grins.

Roman either Arlene is up to something or they took her. I don't know man but she isn't here. Drew popped up in my mind confusing me further.

I couldn't control my anger now. I walked straight up to her almost jumping in her face. But Nali's people stopped me before I could reach her.

She smirked. "Now that's not how it goes boy. You need to relax now."

The men were restraining me. Lucky for me Mesalla,Otis,Ridge and a few others stood right behind me to back me up incase of any unusual movement.

"Where did you take her?" I shouted through gritted teeth. "Where the fuck do you have her?"

Nali looked confused. Either she was really confused or a really good actress,Lord knows.

Crystal on the other hand still had the impassive unemotional expression worn on her face.

"What do you mean? What are you trying to say?" Nali asked looking straight into my eyes.

"Don't lie you sick deranged bitch. You have her." I stated angrily.

"Roman what's going on?" Otis asked wondering what I was talking about. The whole crowd ahead and behind seemed confused about my reaction.

"Roman?" Mesalla said in a questioning form.

I pushed the rogues off me at one leaving one on the ground. "Get of me." I hissed.

"Where is she Da'Shawn? Where?" Nali was shouting now. If it were possible,I would say she was much angrier than I.

"How the hell would I know? You came here to kill her and take her pack from her. Don't you think you could be the only one who has her?" I yelled looking straight at her.

"You little idiot you hid her." She yelled back at me.

It was like it was just me and her in the field. Everything and everyone vanished.

"And why would I do that?" I asked folding my hands over my chest.

"To protect her." She answered.

"Well I would do anything to protect her. You are right but do you think she would miss a fight that held her pack's fate? Who do you think you are fooling psychopath." I walked back and forth now thinking of what next.
