Chapter 18

Roman

Everything happened so fast. Right when I told Arlene I was going to get her Otis ran into the house.

"Sofia." He said breathlessly.

"Well?" I asked him feeling exasperated.

"When I went for the run. She kept trying to mind link me,but I was blocking her out. It became too much so I let her in. She sounded afraid. She told me that she saw a man take Arlene. A man who looks like he is in his late twenty's. He was straddling her around the parking lot." He said looking really worried.

"She mind linked me. Its the alpha we had dinner with." I said running my hand through my hair continuosly.

"Why would he want her? I thought he would be on our side?" Otis asked confused while pacing around the lounge.

"I need to go get her." I said knowing she would be able to link me no matter how far she got. Atleast that's what I hoped.

Where are you? I asked worriedly.

I dont know. I need to stay collected or my expression will give me off.
Come East you can track me from there. Arlene finished.

My wolf was unsettled. It kept howling in pain,in need to have out mate close by.

What I didn't understand was why Bryan took her. None of this made any sense.

Otis offered to come with me,but the pack would have no leader. Mesalla had apparently left the pack since his mate had been locked up. If ever he was up to anything,I don't think it was good. What an inconsistent beta he was.

I drove for what felt like hours. I was driving fast, real fast but it felt like forever. I was losing my patience. I knew where I would start looking for her. Bryan's house.

Bryans house was away from my house,so the drive was long because I had to stretch out from Arlene's house,cross mine which is about a hour and half away,and finally head to his house.

I needed her. She pushed me away a lot but that made me want her even more. I never worked so hard to gain a womans love. Except my mother ofcourse,she had no idea how to love a child. Only how to love herself.

I finally got into Bryan's terriory. I guess he hadn't announced for my possible arrival because his men by the boarder lines waved me through. I drove by the house contemplating what exactly I would do next. My wolf howled in need.

"I see you finally made it." Bryan said while swinging the door open for me after pressing on its doorbell.

"Is she alright?" I asked carefully hoping not to upset him. We already had enough problems on our plate. The last thing I needed was to push it,when not necessary ofcourse.

"Alpha Roman Jr. Isn't it a pleasure to finally meet you." A female voice was now addressing me. I looked around till my eyes laid on her own.

I looked at Bryan feeling in the dark to what was going on.

"Sit down Roman." She went on.

I kept standing waiting for her to introduce herself.

"You my darling seem a little out of place here now don't you? Lets see I am pretty sure your mate has told you about me. I am Nali."

I gulped at her words. So Bryan tricked us and really took this womans side?

"Where's Arlene?" I turned to Bryan ignoring the lady's presence.

"Don't you turn your back on me boy!" She spat clearly angry by my reaction to whp she was.

"Look lady, you and my "father" have unfinished business and not me. So why don't you settle your scores with him and give me my mate back." I said feeling agitated.
