Lillian paced around her apartment with a scowl on her face. She had heard what Lisa and her little squad had said in that kitchen. Now she was thinking about how to get out of that situation. And an idea popped in her mind, and she quickly lugged at her phone that laid on her large bed. The number she dialed rang twice and Bruce's voice welled out;
Bruce: Lilly?
Lilly: Dad.
Lillian smiled hearing her fathers voice. Their relationship had always been on a professional level.Bruce: To what do I owe this pleasure.
Lilly breathed out readying herself for what she had to tell her father.
Lilly: I have news.
When she didn't hear a response from him, she took the chance to continue.
Lilly: It's about Lizzie.
Bruce: Ah I take you heard about the wedding.
Lilly: There won't be one if you hear this.
Bruce: What are you talking about?***
Betty groaned rubbing her hand on her throbbing head. Why did she drink this much last night? Her thoughts were disturbed by the unfamiliarity of her surroundings. The room she had been in was darker and more masculine than her own. She sat up and looked around in the gigantic room. Black sheets, her hands roamed around the sheets, feeling the fabric. She scoffed when she realised and recalled yesterday's events. When she got up she saw that the bed was in the middle of the room, and quite low as well.
This room was very clean, she was even scared to touch anything. She looked around for something that screamed bathroom. When she found a mahogany door she walked to it. Confirming her suspicions, the white interior of the room shone in her eyes. It was tremendous, she wondered if the big tub was actually a jacuzzi or a bathtub. Her eyes caught on the toothbrush and toothpaste on the counter.
She brushed her teeth and looked at herself afterwards. Examining her state, she saw that her previous clothes were off and she was in a shirt. Panicked she rushed out to the room. Then her eyes saw the white sheet of paper on the nightstand. How did she not see that before? "You puked all over your clothes, there are new ones in the closet"
She read it again and again and again. One thing came to mind that she was alone in this house. Indeed they were a pair of joggers with a huge sweater and some Yeezy slides in the closet. After wearing new clothes after she had showered obviously. Betty walked out of the room, with her phone in her hands. She didn't know where she was. She didn't even have his number to call and ask him. When would he be back, how does she get home?
Thinking about home she remembered that Brandon must be wondering where she is. Oh how she wished she was still drunk, at least then she didn't care about anyone. She even had the guts to go home with another man. Her mind remembered how she ended up here.
Betty: Take me away from here.
Leo: From this house? Country? Continent?
Betty: Far away from here.
Leo looked at her for a minute as she sat down in front of him on the ground. She had tear stains on her cheeks, her face still red from all the crying she had done.
Leo: Hop on.
She squealed and got up running to the passenger's seat. Leo did the same heading to the driver's seat.Leo: So where to?
Betty: Far away.
Leo chuckled and shook his head as he drove through the empty road in the night.
Leo: scusa ma non conosco questo posto amore (sorry but I don't know this place love.)
She hadn't known what she said but she didn't care as long as she was away from everyone and everything.Betty: Oh God.
Just then her phone rang, Father appeared on her screen phone. Her breath hinged in her throat. Fear piped in and sweat dripped on her forehead. With trembling hands she pressed the green button.
Betty: F-father.
She internally cussed herself for stammering. Clearing her throat she listened to her father's angry voice.
Bruce: You coming home this instance.
She couldn't believe what she was hearing.
Betty: Father but-Bruce: I don't want to hear anything Elizabeth, first thing tomorrow I want you and Brandon back, the wedding is in two days.
Her shoulders slumped, she wondered why he changed his mind all of a sudden.
Betty: May I ask why father?
Bruce: I spoke to Brandon, I expect to see you tomorrow.
Then he cut the call. How could her father go back on his word like that? She was supposed to stay here for a week. And this weekend was Lisa's wedding, it was still Thursday. How was she to explain this to Lisa? And her wedding was in two days, meaning the same day as Lisa's wedding. She didn't want to get married, she didn't even want to stay with a man she didn't feel anything for. But there was no disobeying her father. Wiping the tears from her face she reached for the door. She was going back to the hotel, she was gonna have to find a way back somehow and there was no waiting for Leo to come back.
As soon as she pulled on the door, Leo stood at the door step with his expressionless face.
She avoided looking at him as she tried to wipe away her tears with her hand. Sniffling she passed him, but his hand grabbed her arm. He didn't say anything but his eyebrows furrowed with confusion.
Betty: Thank you for the clothes, I-I have to go.
Leo: I have a feeling you saying goodbye.
Her gaze fell when he said that, she didn't want to say it out loud, but it was true.Leo: Look at me.
Betty looked everywhere but at him. He pulled her to his chest. Which made her to look up at him.
Leo: Don't marry him.
Maybe it was the way he said it that had her feeling like she was about to cry. Firstly, she didn't even know this man but his request was very high. The way he looked at her was very compelling, Betty always felt like she needed to obey him when he spoke.
Betty: Please let go, I'm running late.
Leo clenched his teeth, tightening his hands around her waist. Leo bend to her ear and whispered;
Leo: I hate it when people refuse me Elizabeth.
He let her go, she looked at him unnerved with a gulp. She didn't know why but the look on his face screamed danger. But she wasn't the least scared of him. She ignored his comment and bolted from his house, calling for an Uber ride. One glance from that house and he was still there with his pocketed hands and black suit. Something told her this wasn't the end of their encounter.
