[1X22]

I do not own any characters/plot from this show apart from my own!

{James takes over Daniel's routine, but once again has trouble balancing dance with schoolwork. Meanwhile, A-Troupe tries to lure Emily back.}

❝Look beside you. We're here as a team.❞

"Turns out, Daniel did some serious damage to his ankle and it's so bad that he can't dance with us at regionals. Which isn't good. At all," Maxie told the camera, a look of worry and fear gracing her face.

The troupe were in studio A rehearsing their dance, however, they all knew that it just wasn't the same with only ten people now.

When it came to the time Daniel would do his solo, James was next in line to take his place, yet he was having quite a difficult time keeping up with the moves

"Sorry guys, can I try that again?" he asked after stumbling over his own feet two times in a row, "Just messed up a little."

"Uh, yeah, sure, James but let's take five, ok?" Miss Kate responded almost immediately, causing the dancers to let out a breath they didn't realise they were holding in before dispanding off into separate groups.

"Um, when Kate calls a break, I knew she only called a break 'cause I screwed up the solo," James explains, "Which just kind of makes me angry because I can get it, I just want to try it again."

Riley looked visibly worried as she spoke, "I know James is trying really hard to get that solo, but... Daniel was the best person for that position."

"We still are missing one dancer," West concluded apprehensively.

Maxie added, her face of worry similar to the others, "James is a really good hip-hop dancer and that's definitely what got him the spot, but this solo calls for more contemporary moves which was very much Daniel's style. So that's just great," she muttered sarcastically.

"Right now, I have no clue if this routine is going to win Regionals," Chloe told the camera.

"Forget winning Regionals," Maxie continued, "I doubt they'd let us through the front door with this shambles of a dance."

The break had finished shortly after it had begun and now the teens were gathered round in a circle, still trying to decide what to do with their problem: the fact that they were one dancer short.

"You know, as Dance Captain, I have to do what's best for the team," Michelle concluded, already nervous about the plan she had.

The silence amongst the group was cut short by Michelle, "Look, I know this is going to sound crazy," she began, earning her some confused looks from the others, "and I can't believe I'm saying this, but... we need to try and get Emily to come back."

She tried to back up her point, "With having Emily on the team, that's our only shot at winning Regionals."

Pretty much everyone else gave the blonde shellshocked looks, almost as if their ears were playing tricks on them.

"What?" Giselle spoke up, chuckling awkwardly as if this was some sort of joke

Maxie nodded with wide eyes, "Yeah, mate, are you on drugs?" she questioned the girl before receiving a warning glare from both Kate and Chris.
