{Chloe's money troubles finally force her to quit A-Troupe, while Michelle and recently returned Emily create some new choreography as Co-Captains.}

❝This is who I am and if you're not ok with that, then... you're not ok with me.❞

It was a few days later, and the new co-captain had been chosen - Emily.

Now, I know what you're thinking, Maxie had been the one offered the spot, right? She had brought the team together after the crushing defeat in the dance battle, she had been the one Michelle had pulled aside at the end of the day and offered the spot to, but she's not the one that said yes.

Maxie had reluctantly refused her offer, explaining how being a dance captain meant putting in the extra hours and taking a lot of your free time away; something she couldn't afford. However, the brunette had given Michelle another person she would consider for co-captain - the very person she had stolen dance captaincy from in the first place.

Michelle had messaged Maxie before practice and told her that Emily had said yes, she was the new co-captain, they just needed to announce it to the team.

"All right, dancers," Chris announced in a cheery, sing-song voice, "We've got some exciting news, gather round, gather round, gather round. Miss Kate, the floor is yours."

Chris and Kate stood before the dancers, with Emily and Michelle stood between them, looking nervously excited in a way as they spoke.

Kate began, "Emily and Michelle are now co-captain!" she simply told the group, making them look in confusion at the suddenness before applauding for the pair, knowing how hard both girls had worked for the studio.

"Michelle and Emily being co-dance captains," Riley stated, "Pfft. I definitely did not see that coming."

Tiffany continued, "Michelle's all about free form and just doing your own thing and Emily's all about just being clean and, you know, structured."

Eldon looked unsure as he spoke, "When I heard that Michelle and Emily are being co-captains... I mean, it's kind of uncomfortable because I'm dating Emily, but I like Michelle. It's not very good."

"Having both their strength together really can bring us together as a team," James explained.

Nodding, Maxie smiled, "Having Michelle's choreography and Emily's leadership will really help the team pull through. A good decision on my part if I do say so myself," she hummed, patting herself on the back proudly.

"So we need to choreograph a new routine for regionals," Kate told the group once they had finished applauding.

James stepped forward with a glint in his eye that Maxie knew all too well, "Actually, you know what? I think we need two routines."

"Why?"

"Cos we're going to make it to finals," he proclaimed, making the group roll their eyes at his cockiness.

He looked back to Maxie with a smirk, making her roll her eyes even harder as Chris said, "Love the way you think, James! Love the way you think."

"We also need a second routine because if you make it into finals at regionals, you compete with a brand-new routine," Kate told the camera.
