❝ As far as I'm concerned, the more time you spend disagreeing with me, the less time we have.❞

After Maxie had found out from the board about the next round — the music mystery round — and then had been informed of how the competition was to decide the order, all eyes were on Eldon and his turning ability.

All Eldon had to do was out spin the rest of the countries in a turning competition, so that The Next Step had as much time as possible to hear the mystery song and alter their dance to fit it.

The team had all come down the the foyer to support their friend, however it was clear he was in shambles.

"Are you okay?" Maxie narrowed her eyes at the blond as she and James approached him on the turning floor.

James gave Maxie a knowing look, "Yeah, dude, you look like you're about to freak out."

"Guys, I really don't want to do this turning competition," Eldon admitted, his palms sweaty as he rubbed them together. It was incredibly clear to see he was nervous, even more so, it seemed, than he was before his solo.

James sighed, "You're the best turner at the studio. You have to."

Eldon looked towards Max, "Maxie is also good, why can't she-"

"Eldon, don't be silly, I can't do half the amount of turns you can in a row," She shook her head.

James continued, "Plus, she's on the dance, dude. Can't do a small person dance dizzy."

"I don't get dizzy," Maxie scoffed.

"Don't lie to me right now-"

"I'm not-"

"Guys!" Eldon snapped, placing his hands on his head, "This isn't helping me at all."

James and Maxie exchanged a look. They knew there was only one way to motivate him.

Nudging Eldon's arm, James sighed, "Look, you know what? If you win this, you can date Thalia."

Eldon was clearly confused. With furrowed brows he pressed, "But you always said I have to get to thirty pirouettes before I can do that."

"Eldon, you can pirouette, fouetté, pique turn, attitude, sail no matter what. But if you win this, you're absolutely getting more than thirty," Maxie continued as she placed an encouraging hand on his shoulder.

"You're ready, bro," James added. And just like that, as if their words were magic, Eldon whipped his jacket off, game face on: he was ready to not only take on the rest of the competition to help his team, but also to prove once and for all his love for Thalia.

Both Maxie and James grinned before turning to leave.

"What, you're not even gonna stay?" Eldon called after them, bewildered that his two best friends were leaving at a time like this.

"Brother, we've got to rehearse," James held his hands up in mock surrender.

Maxie chuckled, "Plus, we'd just distract you anyways, we're doing you a favour!"
