{A-Troupe enters a dance battle with Seeds, a street dance crew, forcing West to come clean. Meanwhile, Michelle finds it tough to be Dance Captain, so she enlists one of the best-suited people to help.}

❝It wasn't just me that lost, it wasn't just West that lost, heck, it wasn't even just Michelle that lost. We all lost as a team, and we'll face that and improve ourselves as a team. Now we're going to go to Regionals, win Regionals, go on to Nationals, win Nationals and move on as a team. As the Next Step.❞

"Maxie, wake up! Your friends are at the door!" a voice yelled across the ground floor of the house, startling the teenage girl from her nap.

"My what is, um, who is at the what?" she muttered, rubbing at her eyes as she rolled off the sofa, making sure not to fall onto the floor this time.

Walking into her living room, James wore a smug look on his face, "Well, your friends were at the door, but we're in your massive-ass mansion now, so."

"James what the hell are you doing here?" she cringed, looking over to see Eldon, Tiffany and West in her kitchen, too, "What are you all doing here?" she exclaimed, before turning back to James, "And for the last time, it's not a mansion, it's just a particularly large house."

Tiffany's eyes went wide as she gasped, "Oh god, don't tell me you forgot."

"Forgot what?" Max responded, her face of confusion becoming more and more evident by the minute.

"We're going out to the park," James reminded her in an obvious tone as he grabbed an apple from her side table and went to bite it.

"Put it back, James!" Maxie's mother yelled from the bedroom, shocking all of the girl's friends.

Looking around like a ninja, Eldon concluded, "That's it, Max, I'm convinced your mom is superhuman."

"She's super something, alright," the girl sighed, pulling on her airforces with a grunt.

"I heard that!" her mother yelled, making the others chuckle.

Opening her door to let everyone out, Maxie shouted back as politely as possible, "Right, then! Bye mum, we're off now, see you after dance!" before quickly shutting it and catching up with them down the driveway.

Around twenty-odd minutes later, the teens were in the park, music blasting and energies high.

"Six, seven, eight, hey!" Tiffany called as the five of them broke out into a synchronised hip-hop routine that hit the music beats.

West grinned, "Right now, we're just hanging out at the park, working on our routine you know, just having fun."

"It just beats being at the studio, day in and day out," Tiffany explained.

Maxie shrugged, "I like it, you know, just chilling with friends and bouncing off each other's energies."

James and Eldon stopped dancing, looking over at their friends, "Yo, West, Max. Show us that flip you two were working on."

"Okay, okay, yeah," West smiled, grabbing Maxie's hand and pulling her over to a clearing for better space to do the flip.

Blushing slightly at the contact, Max shrugged it off with a chuckle as the pair got into position, "Can you guys spot us, though? Like, I don't want to end up like Daniel."
