The art department was filled with a lazy silence, the year was slowly running to a close and the energy was running along with it.

The sun shone through the large glass windows of the hallways, giving them some much needed heat.

Sarah passed a couple coworkers on her way to lilys class, who she now felt comfortable enough to stop and chat to. She loved her new life, her apartment was bigger. That was a plus. And sure her classes where smaller but she grew to appreciate learning each of her students names and getting to know them through their essays and debates. Falling in love was a huge bonus as well of course, she couldn't imagine not having Silas in her life now.

Lily stood on the stairwell, leaning against the railing staring at a painting she'd just hung beside the door.

"Its askew."

Lily shot Sarah a look, "who even says askew?"

Sarah shrugged, "academics?"

The woman laughed as Sarah came to stand beside her. She stopped when she heard an unfamiliar voice inside the class, she peaked inside and saw a short woman wearing a floral dress talking animatedly to a few of the students inside. She had definitely seen this woman in the department before.

Lily saw Sarah's confusion and chuckled, "you know Professor Harding right? She mainly teaches art theory but shes kind enough to take over for me while I'm gone."

"What? You're leaving?"

"Hmm, a years sabbatical. This PhD isnt going to get itself ya know. Now come on let's go introduce you two."

Sarah was trying her best not to seem distracted throughout the introduction, but Silas was sitting on the floor by her work station frowning in concentration as she drew on a classmate's sneaker. God, Sarah rolled her eyes at herself, she was so sickly inlove with Silas Foster.

Unfortunately her and Silas had been on different sides of the world since Evelyn showed up. Of course Evelyn had been keeping Sarah busy for the two days she'd been there and Silas was avoiding Sarah by telling her she was busy with 'art school stuff'.

She quickly turned her attention back to the conversation she had been roped into. Professor Harding, who preferred to be called Judy, was a sweet woman who was obviously very excited about, well, everything really.

Judy watched as Sarah was glancing around at the students, "any favourites?"

Sarah quickly turned towards her, "w-what?" She stammered.

"The peices they're working on? Any catch your eye?"

She sighed in relief, "oh. Uh," she glanced around, "probably those two."
Biased as she was, she pointed towards Silas' work.

"Hmm," Lily spoke, "Sarah has been a fan of Silas' work for a while now," she quipped, holding her cup up to her lips to hide her smile.

"I mean, I'm a fan of all of their work actually."

Sarah made sure to lightly elbow Lily.

Judy smiled, "they're a skilled bunch aren't they."

The woman then walked off towards the students again, leaving Lily and Sarah to their conversation. Silas caught Sarah's eye for a moment before looking back down. Knowing Sarah was still watching her she mouthed a quick "I miss you" before turning her attention towards her drawing once more.
