Sarah successfully recovered from her 48 hour bout of the flu, even though she milked Silas' caring side for a bit longer than that. The brunette was ever so patient with her, making sure she ate, and stayed hydrated even while she was working on her research presentation.

After her first day back at work, Sarah texted Silas, wanting to thank her for taking such good care of her. The art student asked that she bring snacks with an excited promise to show her something when she got there.

Once Sarah got there she was greeted with a quick kiss hello followed by Silas tugging on her wrist lightly towards the elevators.

"I've already set everything up," the brunette smiled.

14 floors up they stepped out of the elevator, Sarah followed her girlfriend up two more flights of stairs which lead to heavy metal doors. Silas huffed as she struggled with the heavy latch. It clicked open and she slowly pushed the doors open. She took Sarah's hand in her own and lead her out.

They stood on the rooftop of the apartment building, the sky around them was pink and orange as the sun was just about to set. The roof gave a view of the beach, and downtown area.
Silas closed the doors and walked back over to Sarah.

"Its beautiful up here."

Silas nodded. The blonde glanced around the roof, and in the middle she saw what the art student had meant by set up.

There was a pile of blankets and pillows layed out, a camp lantern and her laptop were set up already too.

"I thought we could hang out up here for a while," Silas said as she set the snacks down and then sat between the pillows. Sarah sat down beside her and cupped her cheeks softly, Silas' eyes shone in the soft pink and orange glow from the sunset.

"You wanna know something?"

Silas smiled, "what?"

"You're so fucking perfect," Sarah sighed with content before kissing her softly.

Silas played music on her laptop and laid her head down on Sarah's lap.

"Tell me about your day."

The brunette sighed, "I'm kind of drowning in work, my next research paper is due in a week along with the three paintings. And," she frowned up at Sarah, "our philosophy lecturer gave us not one, no no, two assignments."

"Wow, she sounds like a bitch," Sarah laughed.

"Oh you have no idea." The blonde shoved Silas playfully, "asshole!"

"How was your day?"

Sarah groaned, "you mean other than my students complaining to me whenever they saw me? It was great."

There was a silence, Sarah could tell something was bothering Silas but decided not to push.

Silas played with the hem of Sarah's shirt, "I finally told my mom about what happened with my dad...you know he wasnt always like this."

"Were you close?"

Silas nodded, "super close. He used to teach me about everything and anything. I was like his shadow back then, very curious about everything and he loved it. But I don't know, one day I started noticing how his words slurred, how many trips he took to the bar down the street."

She paused.

"He got tired of my curiosity and my mom got tired of taking care of him so we left when I was like 8. Moved to Europe first, then South Africa, then back. And by then, I couldn't even recognize him anymore."

Sarah intertwined their hands, "I'm sorry Si, you deserve better than that."

Silas just shrugged and sat up again, digging through the snacks she pulled out the pint of grapes, popping two in her mouth.

The song changed to Frank Ocean and by now the sky was dark, and they could see a few stars.

The student crawled over to Sarah once more, sitting between her thighs.

"So about these assignments-"

"I'm not helping you babe."

"Why," Silas threw her head back and whined.
