Sarah stood in the shower until the water ran cold. Everything was a goddamn mess and she didnt know how to fix it. As she stared at herself in the mirror, drying her hair, she had to bite her lip to stop herself from crying.
For a moment she thought she should go out for the night to distract herself, but quickly abandoned the idea. Going to the club that night is what started everything in the first place, not that she regretted it in the slightest.
Instead, she placed a frozen pizza in the oven and started picking out a movie. She heard a commotion in the hallway outside, but chose to ignore it thinking it was her neighborhoods dog again.
A few moments later there was a persistent knocking on her door. She frowned in both confusion and annoyance. If it was that guy from down the hall again she'd..
"Silas?"
"Heeey," Silas mumbled as she shuffled forward and then regained herself. Sarah finally noticed Thomas standing awkwardly behind the brunette.
"Thomas? What's going on?" She asked looking from her girlfriend to her roommate.
"I tried to get her not to come, I swear," he spoke quickly, "but shes a little drunk and she just started walking all the way over here."
Sarah looked over at Silas, who know looked like she was about to cry, and back Thomas. She was unsure of what to do here.
"I think I can take it from here, if that's okay with you?"
Thomas nodded, "are you sure? I mean, I know you guys are...in a rough patch."
"You know Silas," Sarah tried to lighten the thick atmosphere, "she'd probably walk back here if you took her home."
Thomas nodded again.
"I'm right here," Silas sighed.
Finally Thomas agreed and left. Silas awkwardly sat on the couch, eyes firmly focused on Karen.
Sarah handed the younger woman a glass of water. The brunette took it, without making eye contact.
"Do you wanna talk about it?"
"About what?"
Sarah sighed, "Si, you showed up at my door drunk at 6pm wanting to cry."
"I just wanted to see you."
Deciding not to push, Sarah nodded and sat down next to her. Silas looked at her, green eyes watering again.
"I hate fighting with you."
"I'm sorry Silas, I'm sorry for not listening to you the other day. I'm sorry for all of this."
Silas wiped her eye, "I'm sorry too."
"Truce?"
"Truce."
Silas scooted closer to Sarah, allowing the older woman to wrap her arms around her.
"Thank you for coming over," Sarah whispered as she kissed the top of Silas' head.
UGH FINALLY! what do you guys think?
