"Hey Jin, I wanted to tell you something," Bang Chan announced. They were once again walking down the sidewalk along the row of houses that looked exactly the same. The only thing that was different is that Jungkook and Jimin weren't with them. It was after school and they both had their extracurricular activities to attend.

The only thing occupying Jin's mind was the moment he and Namjoon shared in the bathroom. What would have happened if Jin didn't step back?  His thoughts and fantasies of what could have happened were interrupted by the voice of the Australian boy asking him a question. "O-oh, what is it?" he asked.

"I know you've only been here a few weeks, but I think I like you," he confessed, almost causing Jin to trip over his own feet. That was a shocker.

"I-I've gotta g-go," he said before racing towards his house. He saw a sliver of his mother through the front door. She was luckily in the kitchen, preparing their dinner for that night. Jin put his backpack down by the counter island and sat down on a stool.

"What's got you in such a rush?" she asked, noticing her son's shortness of breath. Jin took a minute to calm himself down before responding to her question. He gripped onto the counter, breathing heavily.

After a few minutes, he responded. "Someone at school likes me," Jin said. His mother's eyes went wide and a smile crept onto her face. "And I don't think I like him back,"

She nodded her head. "Could you tell me about him? Maybe I could help you with this," she suggested, grabbing the noodles to put in the now boiling water. She also grabbed some vegetables and a chopping board.

Jin thought about her question, eyeing the pot as she put the noodles into it. "I'll start with the good things about him," he began, "He's pretty cute. He speaks English. That's because he's Australian. He's smart. And funny. But he's also kind of shy," Jin described.

"Australians are hot," his mother added in. "What are the things you don't like?" She asked. Her hands were busy cutting up vegetables while she looked up and stared at her son.

"He doesn't know me that well," Jin said, his tone changing. "and he's so much younger than me. Mom, he's a freshman. I know you hate hearing this, but I'm pretty much an adult. That just doesn't sit right with me,"

His mother smiled at her son who was clearly in distress. "I raised you well, Jin," she said quietly before adding the seasoning to their ramen. "What about Namjoon? Has he bothered you in the past few days?"

Jin's cheeks went pink, a blush was making its way onto his face. "N-no, we're actually going to lunch tomorrow. He's much nicer than he appears, I have no idea why Jungkook hates him so much," Jin explained, leaving out the part where they almost kissed.

Thank you for reading! Sorry for the wait, I lost most of my writing time over the past few weeks. I typically write in the mornings, and I lost that time recently. I started waking up earlier to accommodate for it. You can support this story by:
