Namjoon sighed in relief. Jackson was gone again, and he wasn't going to be back at school for two more days. That means the teal-haired boy might have a chance to speak with Jin without being threatened. The bell was going to ring in a few minutes, being followed by the school's lunch period. Namjoon picked up his notebook, making sure to put it into his backpack without destroying the bottoms of the book.

He walked to the front of the school, waiting for Jin. His biggest fear at the moment was that he would be stood up by the boy he was trying to befriend. Namjoon really liked taking advantage of the moments where he didn't have to deal with the burden of Jackson and his oversized ego.

"Hey," a voice said, tapping Namjoon on the shoulder. He jumped at the surprise but was suddenly calmed down when he noticed it was Jin. "I-I'm sorry. Are you ready?"  he asked.

Namjoon nodded. "Don't worry about it," he said, flashing a smile. "Is there anywhere, in particular, you'd like to go? I have an idea of where we should go," the younger suggested.

"I'm new in town, so you can pick," Jin said, embarrassed.

They finally reached Namjoon's car. "What do you think about American food?"

"I like it,"

The two got to the restaurant. It was a cafe that sold only American-style food. There was pizza, hamburgers, sodas, hot dogs, and anything else you would classify as "American". Of course, they had these other foods in Korea, but it just tasted different when you got it from this cafe. That's why Namjoon picked it.

Jin ordered a pizza slice, Namjoon ordered a hamburger, and they decided to share some fries. They got to know each other a little bit better. Jin noticed that Namjoon tried to give out as little information as possible, which was respectable because they were just being acquainted. Things were going great until Namjoon got a call and had to step aside.

"Hey, I hate to cut this short, but we've gotta go somewhere," Namjoon said. Jin nodded and put both of their food into a takeout container. They rushed out to the car, and Jin still had no idea where or why they were going. "When we get there, I need you to stay in the car," Namjoon warned.

Jin was worried but didn't ask any more questions. He trusted Namjoon. Whatever it was, the other was probably much more knowledgeable on whatever they were doing than he was. They drove into a sketchier-looking part of town. Jin's anxiety only grew more, but he kept reminding himself that the other boy knew what he was doing.

The teal-haired boy raced out of the car, making sure to remind Jin to stay there a few times before running off. Jin fidgeted with his hands nervously. He had no idea where he was or what was going on. He had finally gotten close to calming himself down.

Until he heard gunshots.
