tw: gun violence/threats

"Oh no," Jin muttered, realizing that what he heard was clearly gunshots. He had two options. He could go into the building, risk getting shot, and make sure everyone in there was fine. His second choice was to just stay in the car, just like Namjoon said.

The ravenette decided on the first option. He opened the car door and made his way to the front door. Namjoon saw him through the window just before he knocked. The younger boy made a quick hand signal, most likely to ask him not to knock. Jin nodded and waited there.

Namjoon opened the door. Jackson was standing there, and there were two other men. One of them looked very similar to Jackson, while the other resembled Namjoon, but not as much. Everyone in the room looked over at Jin.

"Father," Jackson cleared his throat. "This is the one I said Namjoon was cheating with,"

Jin's eyes went wide. The man who was assumed to be Jackson's father spoke. "Is that true, boy?" he said maliciously, looking at Namjoon.

He shook his head. "I already told Jackson, and I'm not sure if you heard," he paused. "but I'm not cheating on someone who sleeps with ten girls a week," Namjoon said, his voice sounding cracky. Jin thought that he would cry if he didn't have to put up the emotionless mask.

Jackson went over to the table and picked up the gun. "You want me to shoot this thing again, babe?" he said sarcastically.

"I'd love you too, but we have company," Namjoon said with a grin on his face, gesturing to Jin. " and we will be leaving now," he said. Jin was pushed out the door and the teal-haired boy had a grip on the door handle. "I'll see you at the party, sweetheart," he said before slamming the door.

Jin looked over at the boy, already knowing that he wasn't in a good emotional state. "Let me drive," he said. Namjoon nodded and walked over to the passenger's side. "We're going to my house," Jin said. There was no way either of them could focus on school for the rest of the day.

"I'm sorry," the younger boy said. Jin tilted his head, not knowing what he was talking about. "You shouldn't have seen that. But thank you for coming in. I probably wouldn't have gotten out that quickly if you didn't. For future notice, don't go into a building you just heard gunshots from," Namjoon chuckled.

They sat in comfortable silence for a few minutes. "If you guys hate each other so much, why do you stay together? Do you really expect this to go on for the rest of your life?" Jin questioned.

"Yeah, kind of. I'd rather be miserable with him than have his dad kill my father," Namjoon answered. "They're in some kind of business deal. My dad is in debt to him, so I date his son because that's what he wanted. He wanted my sister, but she's still too young to legally be with him," he paused. "But then again, nothing we do is legal,"

Jin looked at him for a second, trying to figure out his emotions. "So you're a part of the mafia?" he asked.

Namjoon shook his head, opening the door to get out of the car. "I'm not. They are," they walked up to the house. "I'm just in this to keep my family alive," Jin nodded and opened the door, walking in first.

"What are you doing home? It's one in the afternoon, young man!" his mother shouted. "Oh, is this the Namjoon you keep talking about?" she asked.

Both boys went red and Jin nodded. "Something happened. I'll tell you later, but can we just go up to my room now?" He pleaded and his mother nodded. Jin gestured to the staircase and they both walked up.

He shut the door behind him after Namjoon sat on his bed. "Let it out," he said. Namjoon furrowed his eyebrows. "I know you're not okay. Come here," he directed, opening his arms towards the younger boy. Namjoon was soon wrapped up in the older's embrace, and sobs could be heard almost instantly after.
