here's an update
Walking down the street as we decide where to next. The swordmaster began to list things that will help Gong-Ja to become stronger. Flying in front of Gong-Ja making him stop in his tracks, " At your level, You won't be able to learn anything by reading a scroll! So the only thing you can get is potions. Extremely good ones."
Passing the ghost and looking back at them. "Gong-Ja why did you stop walking. You know you've been acting weird lately. What's up." I swear my acting Is getting better but it's hard to keep this charade up. He ended up just playing it off with the excuse of he thought he saw something but it was nothing. Classic.
Swordmaster took us to an expensive potion store but it turns out it was also the sword saints potion store he always goes to. When the Swordmaster notice gramps going down the road towards us Gong-Ja grabbed me to an alleyway between the building behind the dumpster. Following behind Gong-Ja and the swordmaster to see the saint walking into the store.
The swordmaster whined as the saint cleaned out the store. Getting an idea Gong-Ja pulled up the rank listings on his phone. "Not in the top 20 or top 100, not even in the top 300. They're not here."
"Do you mean that green-haired chick who becomes number 5 in a few years?" Gong-Ja looked away from his phone and to me who was sitting on the floor against a building.
"How do you know who I was talking about? How do you know she'll become number 5?"
"Ha. There's a lot you don't know about me Gong-Ja. Isn't that why you keep me around. Could it be that you love me?" The men gave me skeptical stares. There faces trying to figure me out. "Look I'm a mysterious person and I know things even your past. Although mysterious it would be in your best interest to listen to me when I recommend you things. Who knows maybe it will save you a few lives." I can't exactly tell him this is a story I've read and that the tower somehow transported my home with me here.
"I'll keep that in mind." His voice telling me he won't. Gong-Ja, although looks naive he's actually pretty smart. It was this characteristic that made him my favorite character in all the stories I've read.
Guiding me and the swordmaster to the slums to witness the green-haired alchemist in a lab coat pretty much being robbed of her possessions. People whispered of how insane she is and that her stuff is overpriced but I must say she makes good positions. Screaming trying to defend herself to keep her pride intact. Seeing her on the ground crying when the crowd left was the perfect opportunity to speak to her. Gong-Ja seemed to think the same when he walked over and coached down at her shaking form.
"Excuse me, are you still open? If you're still open I'd like to place an order. Something Expensive."
"Ah, Yes! Of course! I can make you anything you need!" Her voice shook as she talked but she was still willing to help us. "How expensive are we talking."
"I'm not sure. Maybe around 20k?" hearing his words her mouth dropped and her eyes widened. She started to shake more, probably out of shock from what she heard. She is from the slums so hearing that amount is something else for her. "Aren't you gonna take our order?"
The smirk Gong-Ja has is something else. It's truly evil. She guided us to her lab while fiddling with her fingers. "It's shabby but please come in." Opening the door with a creak to reveal a mess. I thought Gong-Ja's house was bad, this is worse. Creates and herbs scattered around covering the floor and desk of her lab. The walls looked to have black soot on them as if something exploded.
"This place definitely seems sanitary." The swordmaster spoke with sarcasm. "Why do you really want potions made by her?" Ignoring him and getting down to business we settled the money agreement.
"What potions do you want to commission? If you want to commission me to manufacture illegal drugs, I would like to decline." Pulling out a notepad and pen waiting for our answer. "That's the one thing I will not make."
"I swear it's not drugs."
"That's a relief. So exactly what kind of potion do you want to commission?"
The sword master behind us grumbled before telling us the ingredients for the potion. 23 ingredients that sound like nonsense. Rereading the ingredients she realized what it's for. A potion to increase reaction speed and performance.
"4 days. With enough money, I can make it within 4 days. I could normally make it sooner but I need to repurchase my equipment."
Gong-Ja's face dropped before brightening up again "4 days is nothing." If I remember correctly since she was number 1 in alchemy people waited a year to get her potions. "We'll leave it to you. We'll be back in 4 days."
Every day while we waited I would hang out at Gong-Ja's new house and we would do some exercises every so often. Of course, I'm lucky my house is still in this world thanks to the tower so I slept there. I did bring some stuff of mine over since again we hung out at Gong-ja's house more. 4 days passed quickly, and here comes the green-haired alchemist with 3 boxes.
"There are 3 boxes with 30 potions each." Passing the boxes to Gong-Ja. "May I ask why did you give such a costly commission to an unknown pharmacist like me? While I am confident in my skills, just looking at the recipe provided, I think there are only about 2 people in Babylon who could make this."
Gong-Ja rubbed the back of his neck to come up with a sound explanation for why since he can't tell her he's from the future. Deciding to speak up for him, "Because you're a good person. 5 days ago when we offered you 20k, you made a point to not make drugs or illegal substances even though everything was taken from you. You were also able to see the worth of the potion we asked for." Taking her hands in mine. " I believe in the future you will be able to rise to the top. And besides, hunters need to help each other. The world is full of psychos so we need good people to rise to the top instead of them. That's why we commissioned you." She's a good ally to us if she joins our team and not to mention we can skip the 2-year long wait in the future.
Seeming to accept my answer, "If you have anything else you want to order, call me anytime! I'll always prioritize your request!" Hook, line, sinker. There's our potions problem in the future gone. Instead of waiting a year, we can have it in a few days.
Looking back at Gong-Ja with the swordmaster draping his arm over his shoulders souring his mood. I can't help laughing at them sometimes. "Gong-Ja are you alright?"
"How about we try out the potions."
