"Gongja-nim! This one has a straight. You should fold!" Unbeknownst to countess Swordmaster was floating around telling us her cards as she throw money on the table.

Viper was going to bluff with one pair and Gong-ja was going to call.

As the game continued viper finally had enough. The other guild masters knew his personality so before he slammed his fists on the table they picked up their cups of coffee. "This doesn't make sense! It's already been 30 rounds and they haven't lost a single one! Bluffing doesn't work either. This is totally a scam!" Viper's voice raised and he point his index finger in our direction.

"Well master Viper, do you have any form of evidence of us cheating. If you  do then let us know so we can end this." Facing my cards down on the table as a way to not reveal them as I interlaced my hands under my chin, elbows on the table. Showing him my smirk which pissed him off even more.

Gong-ja pointed out how he was out of chips. Adding more flame to the fire, I stood up in my spot and moved my arms to my right, similar to a butler. Grinding his teeth as he speed-walked to where the heresy Inquisitor sat when she too ran out of chips to play.

We played more and more rounds till it got to the point where Black witch, Paladin, Gong-ja, and I were the last in the game.

"I lost. I'm pretty confident in my poker face. Are you using a mind-reading skill?"

"It could be mind-reading, it could be x-ray vision. Try to figure it out." Paladin laughed the comment off as she walked where the others sat. Countess came over to collect the card to reshuffle for the 3 of us who remained.

The game continues with Viper yelling in the background. It seems everyone can handle Viper's yelling with ease as Paladin manages to calm him down explaining the situation of their standing and that there was no way they could win.

"I'm glad." Black Witch's comment seemed out of the blue for this situation. Gong-ja looked up from his card to her while I glanced up but ultimately focused on my card waiting for Swordmaster to call out her cards. "You two are reasonable people."

Pushing her bid further into the table to the middle she continued to explain. "I'm from Ukraine." Finally looking up at her over my cards, holding them closer to my chest. "Well, more like the place that used to be Ukraine. After losing my family in the civil war, I've lived as a foreigner my whole life." She would hate it if I told her about the Ukraine war from my world going on. "Whether it's here or the outside world, It's no place for a girl to live alone."

"True but it is doable as you are still alive." I pushed my bet to the middle, Gong-ja flipping a coin as his bet.

"What are you trying to say? The people in the tower, especially those of the first generation, all have stories. I'm also just a normal orphan."

Gong-ja looked at me by turning his head very little causing Black witch to turn her attention to me. Do they want my back story? I didn't ask for theirs. "My life is good. My parents raised me well which I'm thankful for. They recently died by... natural means." They are actually alive when I magically washed up in this world but I don't know how to get back yet so to avoid the topic of them in the future by Gong-ja I'm classifying them as dead for now.

"When did they die." Black witch's eyes soften.

"A few days before I met Kim Gong-ja." Gong-ja's eyes widen and jumped from his seat for a moment as he now faces me.

"You didn't seem like someone whose parents just died."

"Why else do you think I went to the tower. Don't people come to the tower for various means?" I mean I'm not wrong. Silence drops and for a moment I get a brilliant idea. Time for brownie points. "But you were the light in my dark times. My final destination in a way. I was sad I'll never see them again but I have to keep living in their stead. I find that ironic when fighting with you though." (please tell me you guys caught what I did.)

Laying my upper body on the desk the same way I did when I was at school when I wanted to sleep years ago. Facing my cards face down so as to not give anyone an upper hand in the game, cough cough black witch. Gong-ja was thunderstruck with a red face. Turning back as he was during the game with a hand over his mouth.

"Awww is someone in loooovvvvee?" I completely forgot about the ghost. Floating around Gong-ja mocking him. His taunts were to say out there to the point I dug my face deeper into the table, debating slamming into the table time and time again.

Clearing her voice cleared this embarrassing atmosphere that I blame on the swordmaster. "To the point, the tower might as well be my homeland. We never ask people for their origins. That's the kind of world we've made" You don't ask you pressure. "The fact that I'm Ukrainian, that you're Korean, that you're (Whatever country you wanna insert)  That the heavenly martial clan leader is from china. None of that matters in the tower."

First off, props for getting my country right. Second, the room went from funny to sorrow real quick. Third I completely forgot Viper is Chinese.

"At the tower, we can all understand each other's words. Here we are all equal challengers at least more than the outside. The outside world thinks of us like a garbage can but even a rose can bloom from a garbage can. When that clock hits 0, the public will hear all about you two. Your lives will turn upside down."

"Good, I like getting attention. I hope that they praise me and want to be like me. That's all."

"You're honest. You're the opposite of the sword saint." Countess gave Black witch her cards as she put down her coffee cup.

"Of course, you do you show off." We both smirk at each other silently having a petty fight in front of everyone. "So you gonna rise in the tower?"

"I'm gonna clear 20th, 30th, 50th, and the 100th. No matter how long it takes, I will reach the top of this tower. You can join me if you want."

"No one has ever made it to the 100th floor. Hell, it took the first generation years of attempts to clear the 10th floor which they couldn't do. trying to reach the 100th is suicide... I'm in." A big smile on his face gong-ja starts to show more confidence as he directed his speech to the guild masters.

"I respect the fact that you all treasure the tower. I don't plan to fight you all needlessly but to me you all are rivals. I don't know about you guys but I would rather see the world in it. I don't know much about the famine or the poverty going on here. If you want to use my name to resolve those problems, go ahead. I'm gonna need as much help as I can if I want to climb this tower"

"Sigh, I was wrong. You're exactly the same as sword saint."

"Is that a compliment?"

"No, It's an insult. You're all greedy people." All in. Final match and in the end gong-ja beat both of us.

"So it is a compliment. Thank you. We expect to be treated as an equal now."

"Can you two carry the responsibility that comes with it?"

"Isn't a hunter's job to climb the tower. You can count on us."

As we left, Swordmaster kept calling Gong-ja a zombie again since he made a deal with Gong-ja.

Looking up at the sky or more specifically the gigantic numbers floating in the middle of the sky
