Ashley's pov:
"Oh my godric! What just happened to Bella?" I ask, a look of horror plastered on my face.
"I-I don't know. She was r-right there and n-now she's not," Chris stutters.
"My my this is a pretty piece of business," I hear Mcgonagall mummer to herself. "Potter, Malfoy come with me"
I see her walking away and I turn to Chris. Just as I am about to talk to him, Mcgonagall is right behind me.
"Raywood, Carry I want to speak to you too," She says completely calm considering the situation.
"Of course Headmistress," I respond in the calmest voice I can muster.
We walk toward her office. We pass a few students on our way and Mcgonagall shoos them away to their classes. It seems like we are walking for hours. I have a horrible feeling in my stomach, like I just ate 40 butter tarts. What if that's the last time I'll ever see Bella? I said all of those horrible things and wouldn't accept her apology.
At long last, we finally reach the Headmistress's office. Mcgonagall mutters the password and the giant gargoyle moves aside to reveal a staircase. The Potter and Malfoy boys head up the stairs and we follow close behind. We walk into the room and have a seat. Mcgonagall sits in the chair behind her desk.
"Raywood, Carry do you know anything about what just happened?" Mcgonagall asked.
Potter and Malfoy turn to look at Chris and I.
"No Headmistress, in fact we haven't talked to Bella in months," Chris replied.
"I'm afraid that's not much to go on," Mcgonagall says rubbing her temples with her fingers. "Do you know why Delphini would take Larson? Would she have a particular motive?"
"Well Bella did have this-" I began to say before Chris cut me off.
"Will you excuse us for a second"
Chris pulls me out of my chair and toward the back of the room.
"Should we tell them about the book? I mean it is supposed to be a secret," Chris questions.
"Good point but this is a matter of life or death, Bella is our friend after all," I plead.
Chris thinks hard for a second before answering, "I've got an idea"
I follow him back to McGonagall's desk.
"Yes Delphini probably did have a motive but would they be able to step out of the room?" Chris asks motioning to the other two boys in the room.
"What! If there's any information about Delphini we need to hear it," The Potter boy exclaimed.
"Calm down Potter, this might be for the best," Mcgonagall states.
"It is," I say with a pleading look.
"Alright, please wait outside," Mcgonagall says looking at Potter and Malfoy.
However, Potter doesn't move an inch.
"Bebe come on it'll be ok," Malfoy says putting his hand lightly on Potter's shoulder.
"Fine," Potter agrees.
They walk out of the room.
"So what is this motive?" Mcgonagall asks with her eyebrows raised.
"Promise this will stay between us?" Chris says.
"You have my word," Mcgonagall states.
With that Chris and I launch into a detailed statement of everything we knew about Bella and the spellbook.
"Again it's not much to go on but this might be able to help us. Of course, Larson's parents must be contacted but for now, you may go back to class," Mcgonagall says. "Oh and bring in Potter and Malfoy on your way out"
Chris and I walk in silence back to class. Without saying anything I knew we were thinking the same thing. We had to do whatever it takes to get Bella back.
Alright, this chapter is still kinda short but hey it's longer than the last one. As you might have seen in my last announcement, my best friend and I started a shared account ashandbel. We are currently writing an Avatar The Last Airbender fanfiction so updating might be a little slow for this story. Nevertheless, this story is coming to a close and I think there will be only a couple more chapters. Happy Reading! Word count: 689.
