Chapter Two

When I wake up I almost forget where I am, but then I remind myself. I am at an inn with my two best friends staying across the street from Diagon Ally. Today was the day that we were going to shop for the things we need for third year. I am so beyond excited! I look at the clock on my bedside table and to my disappointment, it reads 4:30 am. We all agreed to wake up by 7:30, which means that Ashley and Chris wouldn't be awake for another three hours.

I decided to lean my head back down on the pillow and try to go back to sleep. With all the excitement it was hard, but I closed my eyes and when I opened them again it was 4:36. At this point (even though it had only been six minutes) I gave up on trying to fall back asleep. Instead, I turn on the lamp beside my bed, careful not to wake Ashley or Chris up, and open my book. Despite what I said earlier about Ashley reading, I do like to read. Another trait that makes me less of a Gryffindor.

The book I'm reading is called Kings Cage, the third book in the sires called Red Queen.  It's a really good book, and I do recommend it. I read for what feels like a half-an-hour, but when I check the clock it's already 7:00. I decide the close my almost-finished book, since I was reading for two-and-a-half hours, and make a mental note to ask mum to send me the fourth book when I get to Hogwarts. I open my letter from Headmistresses McGonagall and re-read what books I need for this semester.

"Bella you're already awake," Chris says in a groggy tone.

"Goodmorning to you too" I replay.

"Should we wake Ashley up?" Chris asks.

"Sure," I say.

We both make our way over to Ashley's bed. Just as Chris was about to shake her I say, "Wait Chris don't you think we should do something other than shake her awake?"

"Like what?" He asks.

"Like dumping water on her," I respond.

"That's kind of mean, but ok," Chris agrees.

I walk into the bathroom and fill up a cup with water. I walk back over to Ashley and dump the water on her. She wakes up in an instant.

"WHAT WAS THAT?" She yells.

"It was water," Chris and I say laughing. We high five each other, but quickly stop laughing after we see the look on Ashley's face. Chris is the first to apologize.

"Sorry Ashley, Bella made me do it"

"No, I did not. Anyway, I'm sorry Ashley it was just supposed to be a joke and I didn't realize it would hurt you that much. I will buy you ice cream once we get to the ally" I say.

"I'll take you up on that offer, now what are we waiting for let's go" Ashley exclaims.

We get dressed, brush our teeth, and wash our faces. We grab our bags and head out the door. We walk down the stairs, grab a muffin so we're not starving, and head out the brick wall. I take out my wand and tap the brick wall three times, revealing the ally.

"Where do you guys want to go first?" Chris asks.

"I think we should go to the joke shop first" I respond.

"Sure" Ashley and Chris say at the same time.

"Jinx Sandbox" They also say at the same time.

"Well looks like you guys are both Jinxed" I laugh.

They shoot me warning looks and I say their names. We proceed to walk into the joke shop and I see a big group of people huddled in the corner of the shop.

"What are they huddled in the corner for?" Ashley asks.

"Oh, how could you not know?" A voice from behind us says. We turn around to find a creepy-looking witch staring at us. "It's Harry Potter and his family".

"Harry Potter and his family, as in Lily Potter? Ahh, she's so hot" Chris responds.

"Put a sock in it Chris, your drooling" I joke.

We look around the store for a little bit longer and round up what we want to buy. I can't shake the feeling that I've seen that creepy-looking witch before, but I couldn't place it. We head over to the pet store beside the joke shop because I need some more owl feed for George. After that, Ashley suggests that we go into Flourish & Blotts to get our books for the new semester.

"Ok, we need The Standard Book Of Spells: Grade 3 by Miranda Goshawk, Unfogging The Future by Cassandra Vablatsky, Intermediate Transfiguration by Emric Switch, The Monster Book Of Monsters, Home Life And Social Habits of British Muggles by Wilhelm Wigworthy, and The Essential Defence Against The Dark Arts by Arsenius Jigger," Ashley says from memory.

"Wow, you really memorized our whole supplies list. Why am I not surprised?" Chris asks.

"It's my talent" She responds.

We all share a quick laugh as we head inside the book shop. We wander around the shop for a half-an-hour looking for the books. It was hard to find all the books we needed because there were so many. But we end up finding them in the end. We buy our books and head over to the ice cream shop since I promised to buy Ashley some ice cream.

"I will meet you guys at the ice cream shop, I'm just going to go to the loo," I say.

"Ok, but don't forget about my ice cream" Ashley replay.

I walk towards the loo when a figure pops up in front of me. It was the creep-looking witch from the joke shop.

"What are you doi-" I begin to say but she cuts me off.

"Bella, I need to give you something"

"How do you know my name?" I ask.

"That's not important now. What is, is this"

She hands me an old, blue and gold book.

"You need to keep this safe and you can't tell anyone about this. Not your friends, or even your parents. Do you understand"

I nod my head and she disappears just as quickly as she appeared. All of this left me wondering what was this book and why was it so important? Why couldn't I tell anyone about it? And most importantly, how did she know my name?

Ohhh who's this witch? I guess you will have to read more to find out. I will try to update this story as fast as I can because I'm sure that your itching to find out what happens next.
