The Spellbook

Chapter Four

We arrive at Hogwarts no later than nine hours after we leave. Chris, Ashley and I grab our things and leave the train. We hop onto one of the many carriages headed for the school. I hear Ashley laugh at one of Chris lame dad jokes as I stared off into space. I still couldn't shake the spellbook off my mind.

"Earth to Bella, come in Bella," Chris says while waving a hand in my face.

"Seriously Bella I think we need to take you to Madam Pomfrey," Ashley responds.

"I'm fine, just tired," I answer.

That wasn't really a lie. I spend the whole night reading the spellbook and only got two hours of sleep.

"Ok then. You do get really grumpy when you don't sleep," Ashley replies.

"Welcome Students to another year at Hogwarts," Professor McGonagall says. "The sorting ceremony will begin now".

As I watch the very scared looking first years enter the Great Hall, thoughts of the spellbook finally leave my mind. I smile for the first time today and take a breath. After all of the first years get sorted into their houses it's time for the start of term feast.

As I take a big bite of chicken I see Alex and his goons, Thade and Kohl, coming toward me. In case you didn't know Alex is the most annoying Slytherin ever to walk the halls of Hogwarts. Ashley and Chris know how much I hate him so I look over at them to see if they could help me out. Ashley gives me the thumbs up and mouths just talk to him. Great.

"Yo what's up Louie," He says.

Louie is the nickname (that I hate) that Alex calls me.

"Ugh," I respond but it comes out sounding way dirtier than I wanted it to.

"Geez Bella I'm excited to see you too but you don't hear me moaning, save it for later," Alex says with a smirk and a wink. 

"That's not what I meant," eww why did he have to make everything sexual. 

"Whatever Louie. The pudding is being served now, see you later," Alex says as he walks off, his goons following close behind.  

I serve myself a big helping of pudding and take a bite.

"What did Alex say?" Ashley asks as we walk to our dorms. 

"He just said hi," I say back.

"Really? That's all he said," Chris says.

"Yes, and you know what I responded with?" I say.

"What?" Chris and Ashley ask at the same time.

"A moan," I respond.

Chris and Ashley burst out laughing.

"Woah there Bella," Ashley jokes.

"Haha very funny," I say sarcastically. 

"Ok time to change the subject, this is where we part. The Ravenclaw dorms are up the stairs. See you at breakfast Bella," Chris exclaims.

"Bye," I respond.

Chris and Ashley started walking up the stairs as I continue walking down the hall. I stop as I see the picture of the fat lady (aka the entrance to the Gryffindor dorms).

"Password," The fat lady yells.

"Tapeworm" I reply.

The fat lady's picture swings aside revealing the Gryffindor common room. I step inside and head up the stairs to the girl dorms. When I get up the stairs I quickly change into my pj's and head to bed. Not long after my head hit the pillow, I was asleep.

Well, that took me a long time to write. I'm sorry that I didn't update sooner but I have been really busy over the last month. I really want to start writing the next chapter but I don't know how long it will take me to write it. Well anyway, thanks for reading this story. Word Count: 621.
