"I hope I'm gonna get paid for all this." I tell detective Seokjin and he chuckles.
" Of course. Don't worry." He reassures and starts going through some of his files while I sit on the other side of the room in the police station, breaking some codes.
Seokjin called me in the morning, telling me to come to the station after lunch to start with my work and I agreed. Jimin and Taehyung didn't know about it so I had to explain them first. But before that, I had to explain Jimin about Taehyung. Jimin was in total shock. He couldn't believe it. It was hard to explain everything to him but at the end, he understood. He is just mad at me that I didn't tell him before that I was gay. How could I when I didn't know myself?
Anyways, back to work. I look at the pile of papers with loads and loads of codes to break. It's gonna take me a couple weeks to do so. But it's alright since I'm getting paid and most importantly, Seokjin will be giving me the information on the murders. That's enough.
"Hey, Jungkook. Come here." Seokjin calls for me and I stand next to him, looking at the huge white board on the wall where he wrote all the information about the murders and pictures of the victims. "You know... This is clearly the case of a seriel killer."
"Yeah, I believe so too."
"And according to my experience, every seriel killer has a pattern that they follow. They don't just... Randomly choose a person and kill them... There's always a pattern..."
I nod. That makes sense. I look at the pictures of the victims. "So... You're saying that... There's something common in all of these people?"
"Yeah. There has to be. Once we find out our pattern, it'll be easy to crack the case." He turns to look at me. "Now, I wanna know something."
"What?"
"The reason. Why are you so desperate in finding the murderer? There's a personal reason... Right?"
I sigh... "Yeah. Right. Actually... My biological parents... They were killed in the same way these all people have."
Seokjin raises his eyebrow. "Your biological parents. I see. If it's the same person behind all of the murders then... It must be an old man. How old were you when this happened?"
"I was 10."
"Ten.... Then the person might be in his 40s or 50s."
I nod. That's right. Why didn't I think about this before? "We got his age range, now it'll be easier to catch him, right?"
"Maybe. But we still have to find the pattern. Jungkook, can I trust you with the information?"
"Yes, absolutely."
He thinks for a minute then motions me to look at his desk. I do.
"This file has all the background information of the victims. You're good at catching patterns so I'm trusting you on this one. Take this file and try to find the common ground."
My eyes widen in excitement." Yes! I'll do it! Thank you for trusting me, I won't let you down."
He smiles. "I'm sure."

"Tae! You're home?" I call out for him after entering my house. He texted me that he'll be waiting for me at home.
"In here!" He speaks from the kitchen. Walking in, I find a total mess. Two of my pans are burnt, chopped vegetables are scattered everywhere on the counter, broken egg shells are on the floor, there's even water on the floor, his hair are messy as well, hands dirty from whatever he was trying to do and he's mixing something in a small bowl.
