Chapter 7 - Shopping

Cat noir POV

Mari and I make our way to the balcony and I pick her up bridal style. I put the arm I used to hold her legs with under the bottom of her dress to keep it from moving as we travel, and then we jumped down. "I'm surprised Alya didn't call you to ask where we were" I said as we jumped over roofs. "Alya is so used to me being late, at this point she just doesn't call anymore" Mari says with a small giggle. After about 20 seconds, Mari spots Alya sitting on one of the benches at the park. "Over there kitty!" She says pointing to Alya. I nod and we quickly land right in front of the bench. "Well nice of you to drop in" Alya said with a small smirk. "Sorry Alya, Cat needed to get all dolled up before he left the house" Mari said while flicking the bell on my costume. "Heyy! You were the one who offered to do my hair!" I say crossing my arms with a smile. "I called Nino to ask if he wanted to come with us but he said that he had to watch his brothers today"Alya says. "That's okay Alya, we will make sure you aren't a third wheel" Mari replied. "I'm surprised that you're not saying that to me, considering that Alya is your best friend and I am just a window Cat" I say with a small smirk. This causes Mari to blush a little which doesn't go unnoticed by Alya and I. All of us laugh and we start to make our way over to the mall.

Marinette POV

"So, you two had a sleepover last night?" Alya says to Cat I with a smirk on her face. "Yes we did, Mari practically begged me to stay the night" Cat said sarcastically. "UmM, no that is not what happened. You made me watch a scary movie and part of the agreement was that you would spend the night" I say in a stuck up voice. "Relax purrrincess I was just teasing" Cat says nudging my shoulder. "Are you sure you don't have feelings for him Mari?" Alya says quietly so Cat couldn't hear. "Wouldn't you like to know that" I say with a small smirk. If I'm being honest, I don't know what I see Cat noir as. Up until a few months ago, I only saw him as a partner and a friend, but recently, he has started acting like a gentleman. Tikki even pointed out that I could talk to Adrien without stuttering. I don't think I'm over him, but I definitely feel more comfortable around him.

No one's POV

The three teenagers continued to walk to the mall. Alya and Cat talked for the rest of the duration but Mari was left to ponder her feeling for these two boys. After a few more minutes, they make it to the mall and they walk into the first clothing store.

Cat noir POV

We all walk into the closet clothing store to the entrance. I noticed that Mari has been silent for the past little while so I decided to nudge her shoulder. "Whatcha thinking about purrrrincess?" I ask looking over at her. This action causes her to flinch a little, as if I interrupted her in the middle of a deep thought. "Oh nothing, just about how I'm gonna get you back for making me watch a horror movie yesterday" Mari says with a smirk. I chuckled a little and rolled my eyes. "This Cat is a pro at pranks, nothing gets by me" I say puffing my chest out while pointing to myself with one hand on my hip. "We will see about that" Mari says as she walked towards Alya who already picked out a few things.

Alya POV

For the longest time, I shipped Marinette and Adrien, but Mari was getting no where with him, until Cat noir came along. After Mari starting talking to Cat noir more often, she completely lost her stutter when talking to Adrien. What makes this all funny is that Cat noir and her talk to each other like an old married couple. I could tell Mari has feelings for Cat noir, and how could he not like her back, they flirt all the time! I think I have a new target, I thought to myself while picking out clothes. Cat and Mari talked for a bit at the front of the store, then Mari walked up to me. "What did you find Alya?" She asks looking at the pile of clothes in my hand. "Oh, just a few t-shirts and this pair of jeans" I say holding up the navy jeans I picked out. "They look purrrfect" Cat says as he joins us in the jean section. "Cat is a fashionista ya know" Mari says crossing her arms with a smirk on her face. "Not trying to brag or anything, but I put together Marinette's outfit" Cat says looking all proud of himself. "I'm surprised Mari doesn't have on more Cat things in that case" I say with a small giggle. "Oh, trust me Alya. This man picked out every possible cat themed thing in my closet. I had to get him to pick something else out because there was no way I would leave the house looking like a crazy cat lady" Mari said giving Cat a cheeky glair. "You say that yet you still chose to wear the necklace I picked out" Cat noir says smiling at Mari.

No one's POV

The three of them continue to shop in that store for another 30 minutes. Alya ended up walking out with 4 t-shirts, one pair of jeans, Mari bought a black sweater and a hair bow, and Cat noir didn't buy anything because he didn't find anything he liked.

Marinette POV

It's been a day and Hawkmoth hasn't attacked yet. I should be on edge, just in case, I thought to myself as we walked out of the store. The three of us ended up going to four more shops, but we didn't find anything that we liked so we decided to leave. As we were walking out of the mall, Alya's phone rings. "Hello? Oh hi mom. I'm out with friends right now but I will be home soon" Alya says with a small frown. "What's wrong Alya?" I ask her with a concerned face. "Nothing serious don't worry. My dad has an appointment in 30 minutes and I have to go home to watch my little sister's" she says disappointed. "How far do you live? I can drop you off if you want?" Cat noir says eager to help out. "Yeah sure! That would help a lot actually. I live two blocks away from here, not to far from my school." Alya says pointing the direction of our high school. "You guys can go, I will wait out here" I say walking over to the bench outside the mall. "Are you sure you will be okay by yourself Mari?" Cat asks. "Of course I will be okay, just don't forget to come back kitty, I joke. I give Alya a hug goodbye and then I watch Cat and her disappear. I walk over to the bench and sit down. I open my purse to take my phone out and Tikki pokes her head out. "So, you and cat noir?" Tikki says while giving me "the look". "Nahh, Cat noir and I are just friends" I say. "Mhmm, you are starting to sound just like Adrien" Tikki said with a small giggle. "Omg you're right!" I say covered my face with my hands. "You okay purrrincess?" Cat says while landing right in front of me. "AhhhHh CAT WARN ME NEXT TIME!!" I say jumping up off the bench in shock. "Sorry Mari, I wanted to surprise you" Cat said with a little giggle. "Apology accepted" I say rolling my eyes. "You hungry? Cat says as we start to walk away from the mall. "We can get some croissants at the bakery if you want?" I say looking at Cat. "That sounds lovely!" He replies. "Hey purrrincess?" Cat asks. "Yes kitty?" I reply. "I know I didn't win the game but can we go ice skate later?" Cat says trying to look cute. "Ugh fine" I say giving in. "We can go eat at my house and then I will get changed before we go. There is no way I am skating in a dress" I say. "Deal!" Cat noir says excitedly.
