Chapter 8 - skating

Cat noir POV

Marinette and I walk back to the bakery. The last time Mari and I went ice skating she went with Luka and I took Kagami. If I'm being honest, I wish I had asked Marinette to come with me instead. Although she is just a friend, the idea of her being with someone else makes we feel all icky. Luka and Mari broke up a few months back, it was the same day that me and Kagami ended things as well. Talk about bad luck. I expected my first breakup to be a lot more difficult to move on from, but with Kagami, it was kind of a relief to not be boyfriend and girlfriend anymore. Don't get me wrong, I though that she was very pretty and I liked her, but everything felt kinda forced with her. Mari seemed pretty upset when her and Luka ended things. She stayed home from school for three days, and then when she did show up, she seemed so distant. I wish I knew why they broke up, they seemed so happy together, I thought to myself as we walk to the bakery. "We are here Cat, you can snap out of it now" Mari says while opening the doors. "Sorry purrrincess I guess I just got a little distracted" I said with a small giggle. Mari and I walk into the bakery and we get in line to order some food. There weren't many people in front of us so we didn't have to wait long. "Hey sweetie! What would you two like to eat?" Mari's mom asked as we approach the counter. "I will have a croissant, and you Cat?" Mari asks looking towards me. "I will have one as well" I reply with a smile. "I didn't see you two walk out earlier?" Mari's mom says while picking up two croissants. "Oh we went through the window, we were late to meet up with Alya so we thought it would be faster then walking" Mari says with a small laugh. I don't think Mari's mom understood what she meant by "went through the window" because she looked kinda confused. after we got our food Mari and I walked over to one of the empty tables to eat.

No one's POV

Marinette and Cat ate their croissants while talking about the mall. They spent about 30 minutes slowly eating and chatting. After they finish, the two of them walk over to the stairs that lead up to Mari's house and they walk up to Mari's room.

Marinette POV

"I will go get changed and you can go feed your kwami, here you go" I say while handing him a cookie from my purse. "Thank you purrrincess, but may I ask why your purse is full of cookies??" Cat asks confused. "Oh- Um well.. you see- I carry them.. incase someone gets hungry!" I say with a nervous laugh. "That makes sense. Count on Marinette to always have snacks for everyone!" Cat says with a giggle. "Okay, go hurry up and feed Plagg so we can get going" I say while pushing Cat towards the bathrooms. After Cat locked the bathroom door I walk into my closet and put away the clothes I bought earlier. "You should wear these Marinette!" Tikki said while pointing to a pair of light blue jeans. "They look good, but what top should I wear?" I ask her while picking up the jeans. "Maybe this top?" Tikki replies while picking up a cream coloured cardigan. "That looks perfect!" I say picking up the sweater. I quickly get changed and then I walk out of my closet. (Her outfit)

Cat noir was already done feeding his Kwami so he was leaning against the wall waiting for me. "You ready to go skating purrrincess?" He asks while walking towards me. "Yes kitty, but first I need to pack my skates" I say while opening the trapdoor to go downstairs. I grab my purse and we both walk down. "So where do you keep your skates?" Cat asked as we make it to the main floor. "They are in the back of the storage closet over there" I say making my way down the hall. "I hope I still remember how to skate, I haven't been to an ice ring in almost a year" I say while grabbing the skates. "I'm sure you will do great purrrincess" cat says while holding out his hand to help me up. "Hey kitty, how are you going to fit skates over your costume?" I ask him as I stand up. "Oh don't worry about that, I will just transform into my ice Cat noir" he says with a smile. I totally forgot about our power upgrades. To be fair, we haven't had to use them as much recently. I put the skates in the bag and then I throw it over my other shoulder. "Ready to go kitty?" I ask him as I close the closet. "Yes I am" Cat replies. "So, do you wanna bus, or do you wanna bike?" I ask him as we walk towards the stairs. "Actually purrrincess, I never learned how to ride a bike" Cat says looking at his feet. "That's okay! It's a tandem bike, only one person needs to know how to ride" I say putting my hand on his bicep. "Bike it is then" he says.
