Chapter 13 - My prince

Marinette POV

I know how difficult it must be for Adrien right now. If he is right about his Dad being Hawkmoth then he will need my help and support. Right now isn't the time for me to dwell on the past. Just because the last time Cat figured out my identity ended badly, doesn't mean that this time it will end the same. "Are you ready to go M'lady?" Adrien asks holding out his hand. Plagg had already come back so he was just waiting on me to give him my approval to transform. "I'm ready Kitty" I say locking my fingers in between his. "PLAGG CLAWS OUT" Adrien calls out. "TIKKI SPOTS ON" I say seconds later. "Glad to have you back Bugaboo" Cat says with a small forced smile. "Cat, you know I am always here for you. If this is too much for you I can go investigate alone" I say putting my hand on his shoulder. "No Ladybug. This is something that I need to deal with. He is my father after all. No matter how evil he is" he says holding back tears. "Let's go Kitty" I say after kissing his cheek leaving him with a light pink blush. I put the miracle box away in my closet in case someone comes in, and then walked back over to Cat. Cat climbs up the ladder to my balcony and opens the trapdoor. The two of us walk out and I close the door before jumping over to the next house. Cat noir and I jump over houses in silence. I knew that he needed some time to process everything that was going on so I tried not to interrupt his thoughts. After a few moments, we made it to the house across from Adrien's. "How are we going to get in without being caught?" I ask looking over at Cat. "Through the window. I have a plan on what to do with the cameras, but we need to go inside first" Cat says walking over to the edge of the roof. His bedroom window was open, so the two of us jumped inside. "PLAGG CLAWS IN" Cat says moments after entering his room. "Don't you need your powers Incase we get caught snooping?" I ask looking over to him. "I will transform back but first I need Plagg to help me with my plan" Adrien says handing his Kwami a piece of cheese. "Plagg, you go around the house a move all the cameras away from where we will be walking, okay?" Adrien asks. Plagg nods and quickly does as he is told. "That is actually really smart Adrien, Kwami's can't be seen on cameras" I say with a small smile. After a few minutes Plagg comes back into the room. "Adrien your body guard is in his room right now so we should move quickly before he comes out" Plagg says as he flies closer to Adrien. "That's a good idea Plagg" Adrien says before transforming.

Cat noir POV

I transform back into Cat noir and walk over to my bedroom door, quietly opening it so my bodyguard doesn't hear anything. "We are all clear" I say to ladybug before walking out quickly, ladybug follows and we walk downstairs. "Where did you say the Peacock Miraculous was?" Ladybug asks. "In my dad's office" I reply as we walk closer to the door. "In here" I say quietly opening the door, I look around before entering and then let ladybug go in first. I walk over to the cupboard across the room, trying not to focus on anything else I the room. I love my dad, but I can't deal with him being a villain. I open the cupboard door and there it was, the miraculous leaning on the photo of my mom. "You were right Cat. I'm so sorry" Ladybug says giving me a small hug. I take a deep breath and try to focus on why we were there. I pick up the miraculous and a small Kwami comes flying out. "I'm ready to fight again Natalie!" The kwami says as it stretches it's blue wings. "Ahh, who are you?" The blue creature says looking at Ladybug and I. "Don't worry, we came to save you. I am Cat noir and this is Ladybug. I am the new guardian" a say looking at the blue Kwami. "Thank you" the small creature says while giving me a hug. "What's your name?" Ladybug asks. "My name is Duusu" the Kwami says pulling away. "Do you know anything about Hawkmoth Duusu?" I ask. "I'm not supposed to say, but I will tell you if you promise me you will save Nooroo" Duusu says. "We promise" I reply "Hawkmoth's lair is in the basement. He is trying to bring his wife back to life because she used this miraculous but it was damaged" Duusu says. "Why did she use the miraculous in the first place?" Ladybug asks. "Her son" Duusu says. "What about her son? What does he have to do with the miraculous??" I ask in a confused voice. "He's.. a sentimonster" The Kwami says lowering her head. I could feel my stomach drop at these words. "No, no that's impossible.. h-he is real. He has feelings, a-and no he can't be a sentimonster!" I say tearing up. "Duusu sentimonster's don't have feelings, Adrien can't possibly be one!" Ladybug says with a shocked expression. "But he is Ladybug" Duusu says looking up at her. "Let me tell you the story. Emilie wanted a son, but she couldn't get pregnant. So she decided to make a sentimonster baby and named him Adrien. After a long time she figured out how to make Adrien more human. The problem was, is that as he grew stronger and developed more emotions, she grew weaker until she fell into a coma." Duusu said as she looks down at the floor. I didn't know what to say. All of this is my fault. I am the reason my mom is gone. I am the reason my Father is so unhappy. I am the cause for Hawkmoth. "Claws in" I say in a quiet shaky voice. "ADRIEN???!!?" Duusu says flying up to me. "Where is my mother?" I ask the small creature holding back tears. "In the basement" Duusu says pointing to the portrait of my mom. "Adrien.." Ladybug says pulling me into a hug. I start to softly cry into her shoulder, I could feel her crying into my chest as well. We stood there for a while, just hugging each other and sobbing quietly. Plagg and Duusu joined the hug, they were probably happy to see each either after so long. I pull away first, wiping the tears from my eyes, then from Ladybug's cheek. I hold my hand out, and Ladybug locks her finger in mine. The four of us make our way to the painting of my mom. "You have to press the buttons to get into the basement" Duusu says. I know that my dad keeps stuff behind the picture, so I moved it in case he has the password written down somewhere behind it. Sure enough, after I moved some things over, I found a small piece of paper folded under a vase. "Here it is" I say opening up the paper. I moved the painting back to where it was and stepped back. "You have to stand here Adrien" Duusu says pointing to a spot on the floor. I do as she says and then I use the password written on paper to press the right buttons on the painting. Suddenly, the floor started to open and Ladybug and I started moving lower into the ground.
