Chapter 9: Operation Joshifer- Take 1

Kat's PoV

"So Amandla, Willow, what should our first point of action be in our plan?" I look at the girls as we sit around a table in the library.

"We should do something quite simple, but something that will work. We don't want this plan to drag on for too long." An expression of thought captures Willow's face, the look in her eyes show that there are several ideas floating around her brain, whereas I'm just sat there completely clueless. Have you actually realised that I'm taking advice from two teenage girls on love. What has my life come to, eh?

"Oooh," Amandla exclaims, attracting everyone's attention and earning stern glares from the librarian. Giving everyone apologetic looks with a sheepish smile on her face, she lowers her volume. "Why don't we try the classic, 'go out and ditch them'? It's simple, and it can work!" 

"Okay," Willow says, "but where could you ditch them discretely?"

"Don't worry about it," I smirk, "I know exactly where to go with them."

"So Josh," I say as I walk next to him, "what are you doing tonight?" 

"Nothing," he replies, before turning his head to look at me, lifting an eyebrow in suspicion, "why?" I think back to plan that was devised yesterday, and ask, "Well, I was wondering if you'd like to accompany your wonderful cousin to watch Beauty and a Beast in the theatre? I really want to see the musical!"

"Well firstly, I don't have a 'wonderful cousin'..."

"Ha-ha. Very funny." I interupt him, sarcasm dripping in my voice.

"Anyway," he continues, "I kinda don't want to see it. Just not in the mood today." For shits sake do I need to beg? I think to myself, before pleading, "Please Josh!" He shakes his head.

“Please?” I stretch the word out for effect, but he doesn’t give in.

“What’s going on, why does Kat look like she’s going to fall on to her knees?” Jen laughs, and I know I have found my way to get them both to agree.

“Will you join me in going to see Beauty and The Beast at the theatre tonight?” I ask Jen, who easily agrees to it.

“Looks like Joshie will be stuck at home on his own, no friends to hang out with,” I tease him.

As I planned, Jen starts trying to convince Josh to tag along, “C’mon Josh, come with us, it’ll be fun.”

“Fine,” he sighs, giving in extremely quickly. I raise an eyebrow at him and get a glare from the boy as a response.

“Then it’s a date!” I say, internally saying to myself afterwards, “hopefully a real one for you two.”

I wait for Josh and Jennifer to come, my head spinning in trying to come up with a plan of some sort. Obviously I'd planned the 'where-shall-I-ditch-them' part of the plan, but not the actual 'how-I'm-going-to-ditch-them' part. It needs to believable, and I can't think of a freaking thing I can say that won't be ridiculous. I can't say I need the toilet, because it will be suspicious; they won't know where I am etcetera. Stuck for options,  text the first person who comes to my mind.
