The car ride to Starcourt mall was eerily silent. I sat in the back between Will and Max and stared straight ahead, trying to ignore the fact that everyone in the car seemed to take turns staring at me from the corner of their eye.

"You're having a baby?" Eleven spoke slowly, breaking the silence.

"I don't know." I mumbled. Truthfully, I didn't know what I was going to do. Could I even have a baby? I mean, the world was in the process of ending and Billy- Billy wasn't even Billy at the moment. How was he even going to take this?

"But the test said-"

"She doesn't know if she's keeping it El." Max explained quietly, and I thankfully squeased her hand.

"I'm sorry Evie." Will suddenly whispered as he stared at his lap.

"You have nothing to be sorry for." I stated as I leant into him.

"I'm serious. Everyone only found out because of me."

"Well it's not how I would have done it." I sighed.

"When were you planning to tell us?" Nancy asked as she eyed me in the rear view mirror.

"Nancy." Jonathan warned, only for her to completely ignore him.

"I'm sorry I didn't run straight to you the second I pissed on the stick, but there's bigger problems than me being pregnant." I glared.

"Exactly Evie, problems that put us in danger. You're reckless, what if you got hurt and-and lost it?"

The car went silent again as we all absorbed her words. I understand how upset Nancy is, and why, but God she was starting to sound like a total bitch.

"Dude." Lucas suddenly piped up and reached around to pat Will on the shoulder, as if only catching up with the conversation. "You touched her pee."

We all couldn't help but snigger at what he said, even Nancy broke her scowl and showed signs of a small smile. I turned in my seat and shot Lucas a greatful nod, relieved that he had broken the terrible atmosphere in the car.

It went silent again, but this time it was comfortable. I let out a long sigh and rested my head against the headrest, just listening to the hum of the car wheels moving along the road. "Hey, look." Max suddenly piped up as we approached the turn in for the mall. I turned my head to look as she stared out the window and pointed towards the parking lot, which was surprisingly empty.

"Where is everyone?" Nancy pondered aloud as we pulled in and parked.

"Maybe the mall closed early." Mike suggested with a frown as we all piled out of the car.

The others started to slowly walk towards the entrance, and I let out a sigh as I continued to stare at the front of the mall. Suddenly, my eye caught something through the front wimdows. "Wait!" I whisper shouted, "we can't go in the front."

"Why not?" Will asked as everyone stopped walking and turned to face me.

"Bad guys." I pointed so that the others could follow my line of vision to see the group of men sneaking around the lobby of the mall, holding what looked to be guns.

"Shit." Jonathan sighed as he glanced at me before running his hand over his face. "Okay New plan, there's a fire escape on level two."
