"I dump your ass."

I practically had to scrape my jaw off the pavement once El's words reached my ears. Everyone's reactions were priceless and I begrudgingly had to interrupt my own proud big sister moment to drag the two of them away to my car.
Once we all got in, the three of us erupted into a fit of laughter.

"El I fucking love you." I wheezed as I started up the engine.

"Stupid boys." Was all she had to say before I exited the parking lot.

I turned on the sterio, which played and rolled the windows down to let some air in just before we hit the highway. "So where are we going?" I smiled at the girls through my rear view mirror.

"Home." El nodded as she finished her ice cream. I gave her a mock salute as I turned down a dirt road that would eventually lead to Hoppers.

The three of us were silent for a while before I eventually spoke up. "Max?"
I began.

"Yeah?"

I let out a deep breath before speaking again. "Have you noticed anything strange about Billy lately?"

"Uh," she took a few seconds to reply, "like more than usual?" I could see through the mirror that she had a small smile on her lips but it quickly disappeared once she saw that I wasn't joking. "Not really. Did something happen?"

"It's just," how the fuck was I going to say this without sounding absolutely crazy? "you know how we were supposed to meet last night? Well he didn't show, and then when I went to see him at work today, he- well he just acted really different. Sort of scary." I suppressed a shudder as my mind drifted back to the altercation in the supply closet.

"Oh, I thought he was with you because he didn't come home last night."

An uneasy feeling started to develop in the pit of my stomach as Max spoke. And a million thoughts began whirring around in my head as to where the fuck he could have been. "Well, he wasn't."

"Stupid boys." El said again, which caused me to scoff.

"Damn right." I pulled up to the cabin and the the two girls exited the car. I sat for a second and ran my hands over my face before joining them. The three of us entered the cabin and I followed the girls into what I presumed to be El's room.

"The three of us should have a sleepover." Max said to El as she flung herself onto the bed.

"Sounds good." El nodded before she looked at me.

"Sure," I grinned, "besides, someone's got to keep you two out of trouble."

A few hours had passed and it was now dark. I sat on the floor with Max's hands on my lap, painting her nails while El was sitting on the bed flicking through a bunch of magazines.

"There, all done." I grinned as I screwed the cap back on the nail polish. Max blew on her nails a couple of times before getting up and moving beside El. I started to tidy up as the two of them giggled. The conversation quickly turned towards Mike and Lucas and I rolled my eyes. I was one hundred fucking percent done with boys today.

Suddenly, the girls stopped talking and I looked over to see them both staring at each other with mischievous grins plastered on their faces. "Whatever you two are thinking about. No."  Both of them just looked at me before grinning.

"Alright. Quiet." El said as she adjusted the knob on her radio so that static noise filled the room.

"Wait is this actually going to work?" Max asked. I could practically feel the bed buzzing with her excitement beside me.

"Max."

"I can't believe this." I shook my head with a grin.

"Evie."

"It's so cool I-"

"Guys!"

"Quiet, yeah." Max quickly mumbled.

"Right sorry." I nodded.

The three of us sat in silence for a while before El spoke. "I see them."

Max moved down to the floor. "What are they doing?" I had to suppress a snort as I thought about how embarrassingly gross it would be if they were doing something private like jerking off or taking a shit.

El was quiet for a moment. "Eating." Oh thank god.

"They say we are species."

"What?" Max and I said in unison.

"Emotion not logic."

"What?" Max exclaimed again.

"Those little shits." I said under my breath as I joined the girls on the floor.

I found myself staring at the small trickle of blood that began to fall from El's nose when suddenly she pulled off the blindfold, a shocked expression on her face. "What?" I asked.

"What happened?"

We received no reply as El just burst out laughing, causing Max and I to do the same. However, the three of us were quickly pulled from our laughing fit as a loud engine revved in the driveway.

"Shit okay, Max turn off the radio." I babbled as I quickly wiped the blood from El's face. I managed to grab a nail file and throw the girls two magazines just as the front door opened. I sat behind them on the floor as Hopper yelled something before storming into the room.

"Do you knock, jeez." Max exclaimed.

"Yeah jeez." El echoed and I had to bite my lip to stop a smile crossing my face. Hopper looked between the three of us with a stunned expression on his face.

"Ohh-uh hey. I'm sorry, I thought that-"

"Mike's not here." Max cut him off.

"We're having a sleepover." I nodded to Hopper.

"Is that okay?" El asked.

"Uh yeah- yeah, yeah. You're parents know about it?" He asked Max.

"Yup." She nodded her head.

"Yeah that's cool - that's really cool." Hopper motioned with his hand as the three of us stared at him.

"Did you need something?" Max voiced.

"Oh no, no- I'll just uh." Hopper mumbled as he slowly backed out of the room and shut the door. I let out a small chuckle as Max and El high fived.

"So, what's next?"
