The door creaked as I closed it behind us with a gentle thud. The temperature inside the mall was a cold contrast to the warm night air of Hawkins. However, the goosebumps littering my arms and legs weren't just from the cold, but rather from the fear that I felt as we crept along the upper landing.

I could hear the men speaking a different language as I peaked over the railings. I had a good view of the lower level from up here and had to mentally stop myself from shouting out once I spotted Dustin and the others hiding behind a counter. However, it seemed like I wasn't the only one who noticed, as the men gathered and started to slowly make their way over to the hiding spot.

I crept back towards the others and was in the middle of trying to express to Max what I had seen via a bad effort of charades, when a car alarm suddenly went off. I jumped slightly before turning to stare at Eleven, who was leaning over the bannister with her arm outstretched.

The men slowly looked up and stared at El with confused looks on their faces, which only lasted a brief moment before she thrusted her arm forwards, sending the car flying across the mall and taking the men out with it.

We all ran up to the railing and I saw Dustin, Steve, Robin and Erica peaking out from behind it. They all turned to look up at us and I couldn't help but smile at Steve, even though he looked like shit. "Come on let's go." I said to the others as I took off in the direction of the escalator, excitement now flowing through my veins at the sight of our friends.

"You flung that thing like a Hot Wheel." Dustin grinned as we reached the ground floor, causing me to smile as he embraced El and Mike.

"Lucas?" Erica exclaimed as she walked up to us.

"What are you doing here?" Lucas expressed his annoyance at seeing his little sister by dramatically throwing his hands up in the air.

"Ask them. It's their fault." She pointed to Robin and Steve, and I turned to face them with a clocked eyebrow.

"True, yeah. Totally true. It's absolutely our fault." Steve nodded with his hands on his hips.

"I don't understand what happened to that car." Robin's face was a mix of confusion and disbelief as she shook her head in shock.

"El has superpowers." Dustin explained casually as he pointed to her.

"I'm sorry?"

"Superpowers." Steve repeated. "She threw it with her mind. C'mon, catch up."

I couldn't help but smirk at what he said, and how Robin just continued to look back and fourth between the car and us. She had every right to be confused. This whole situation was fucking crazy.

"Wait, that's El?" Erica smiled.

"Who's El?"

"I'm sorry, who are you?" Nancy suddenly frowned as she pointed at Robin.

"I'm Robin," she stuttered, "I work with Steve."

"She cracked the top secret code." Dustin nodded.

"Yeah, which is how we found out about the Russians." Steve furthered.

"Russians?" Jonathan and I exclaimed in unison.

"What Russians?"He continued.

"The Russians!" Steve fiercely pointed towards where the men on the ground were and I couldn't help but widen my eyes.

"Those were Russians?" Max stared, disbelief evident in her tone.

"Some of them." Erica shrugged as if it was completely normal. Alright, now I know exactly how Robin felt.
