Third person's view
"Pardon?" A meek voice asked as he looked at both of the people in front of him.
Sapnap and Karl only looked at eachother before looking back at him with an unreadable expression. Both looked sympathetic, but had other emotions lacing with it. Anger and guilt being the most prominent one.
He didn't understand. What was going on?
"George. I know you understand what we just said." Karl carefully told him, not wanting to break his friend's sanity even more than it already has.
George didn't understand at all.
"No. N-No, I actually don't." He mumbled out as he looks at both of his hands, trying to figure out what they just said, trying to figure out the weight of what they just said.
Both looked at each other again before sighing and leaving him alone, knowing full well that he needs time to understand what they just said.
George listened to the both of them and knew the news, but just couldn't seem to understand why it had to happen so soon. He didn't doubt that they would actually resort to it, but he didn't think it'd happen so soon. He wasn't ready.
He sat there on his own at the stairs that lead to the dragon where his dream about him escaping was. If he could make his dreams into reality, he already would've, sadly he can't.
He let's himself sit there for a moment, trying to understand the news that he just heard a few minutes ago, his brain digesting it and throwing it back out in disgust as it refuses to believe it. The news being brought back and forth in a motion that was starting to hurt his brain from how long it was going.
He was never the guy to think much about something and would rather avoid doing much so he didn't have to think. It didn't necessarily mean he's stupid, though. Sometimes, he wished he was so he can't understand things he didn't want to understand.
Deep inside him, he knew he had to accept it somehow, but even his heart was telling him to stay away from the thought. With both his heart and brain on both sides of the other, he stood up from the stairs and started walking towards the place he hasn't really entered, but already went to. It wasn't that hard to find as it is pretty big.
His body jittered as he keeps walking, finding himself looking at the other members of the smp walking around freely with no chains attached to their feet unlike he does.
Technically speaking, even the people who supposedly cared about him was happier than he was and it's just so annoying to see them all so happy and all. He didn't want to be that guy who ruins the fun for everyone, but honestly, it felt like he was already playing that role for anyone that passed him by. He was hurt by that assumption, but he had to accept it since it would be the overlying truth that he can't escape from.
He can't run from it anyways, he doesn't have anywhere to run to and it would just make him seem more of a coward than he already is and that's just gonna punch him right in the gut.
A sigh escaped him as he continues on walking, taking out his netherite pickaxe that he got from the God in his dreams.
If he was being honest, he still didn't understand why the god chose him for all of the people out here with him that looked more interesting. His aura wasn't that welcoming rather the opposite, so what did the God see in him? It was so confusing to George that he had constant headaches just for thinking about it.
I mean, who wouldn't? The god of the whole server suddenly shows up and wanted to be your friend from out of nowhere, sticking with you until you said yes to his friendship and leaving right afterwards like he had no other business there but him.
Just the god being desperate to be his friend was enough for him to overthink.
His thoughts stopped as the towering obsidian building was seen in his line of vision, sauntering over to it immediately and looking for the right place to dig at.
He wasn't allowed to be anywhere near here as Sam was inside and would kill him just by seeing him, but he's not thinking straight at the moment, only wanting to save his best friend who's stuck inside.
George knew he desevered to be inside the prison after all that he's done, but he wanted to be happy again. His best friend brought him that.
He was able to move on for only a bit when El Rapids was still standing, but after Karl started disappearing and Quackity brought the country down and hungered for power as well, he just went back to this dark hole he made himself.
The brunet knew that he even he wanted power as well, but decided against it when he found out that he was happier with no responsibility on his shoulder and not losing another friend.
Him and Dream left off on a neutral spot, but he was willing to bring their friendship back into fruition. He missed him and he hoped the other did as well.
So, when he found the spot, the mining fatigue already doing it's effect, he tapped his pickaxe on one of the blocks, hearing nothing after it.
The walls were thick.
But, that didn't stop him.
He started to dig through it, it proving to be difficult as the mining fatigue was slowing him down, him not being able to do anything about it as he doesn't even know where the elder guardians resided. It almost made him go insane as he waits so long for even one block to break. The fact it was obsidian wasn't helping too.
After he broke two of the blocks, he suddenly fell back, seeing a sort of figure in front of him.
Unfortunately, he hit his head as he fell and only saw the blurry figure before passing out.
