Heavy breathing was the only thing he could hear as he slumps down on the ground after being tossed out by the portal, having no energy to even get up by an inch. Face down on the green grass, he tilted his head so he can atleast see where he spawned in. Of course, he spawned in on the same spot of the forest as he always had, making him believe that he was back in the beginning once again.
He huffed, finally getting up and waiting for the footsteps that traveled through the grass, as it was always heard a few minutes after his arrival. It belonged to the blonde man he was so desperately saving, as he was the only one that inhabited the smp at this time with him. He expected the greeting that always had the same genuine words that was starting to get annoying to hear even if it was only ever said three times by the other.
The brunet couldn't help it, wanting things to be over with. Needing the ending he wanted from the very beginning. The ending he wanted to get ever since he was whisked away by the God from his own timeline. He made a mental reminder to thank the God if ever he sees him again, just by giving him this opportunity.
Speaking of which, George finally heard the footsteps he's been waiting for, looking at the direction the man would be appearing from as it happens every single time. It was the only clearing that lead to spot from the unmade community house after all. Green eyes were finally seen, well yellow, being different from the yellow/green leaves that surrounded him that belonged to the forest trees.
The smile he had on his face was even more genuine than his words as he approached him with arms opened wide for a hug, the brunet chuckling and taking it, doing the same motion as the other as they met in the middle for the hug. Both relished in it, especially the brunet as it was far too long since he has ever relished in one.
The hug lasted for more than it did before, the blonde not minding at all as he stayed in the embrace. The blonde giggled a bit as the hug stretched on, finally being released by the brunet with a sort of empty look in his eyes. It made him worry, but it was pushed away by the brunet by masking it with a smile that reached his eyes. It was easy for him to fake feelings out, having been almost like a stone to others that didn't know him. It was concerning for him as well, but it did give him the advantage of hiding so who was he to complain?
His thoughts were always either muddled up or empty. There was no in between. It was pretty much normal for him. Right now, however, as he looks at the blonde in front of him, his thoughts consisted of plans to save him. How to get him out of this event that will surely ruin him. He knows too much of what would happen in the future and he genuinely will do everything in his power to change it just for him. Those green eyes held confusion and the bliss of obliviousness as he stares at clouded mismatched ones that seemingly can't even meet his own.
It worried him, but he chose to push it away as the brunet being new to the surroundings they were in. Then again, they were just in a forest, so what was so new about that? What was inside that head of his?
The blonde hates to admit it, but sometimes he wonders what the other was thinking of. Both of them were quite insistent with hiding their thoughts, especially the brunet that barely even shows his emotions to others. It rarely slips and it's even more rare for it to seep through the cracks that the blonde made. It annoys him so much, but what can he do about that? George was adamant with hiding how he really feels and he'll do anything to not let it show.
George senses the fact both were silent for a while now, shaking his head as he comes out from his own thoughts, finally meeting the green eyes that stared expectantly at him. They met and kept that stare for a few moments, a welcoming smile stretching up on the blonde's face that was softly mirrored by the brunet across him. It was genuine. It was real and that's all it mattered.
This. This wasn't what the people against him never saw back then. But then, why would Sapnap and even Punz go against him when they saw how vulnerable he could be?
It was just so difficult to understand even with the two sides of the story. Maybe it's because he really can't choose between the truth of the matter or the false reality he wanted to live in. Say what you want about him, but George can be selfish if he wanted to.
And he chose to be selfish everytime it came to the blonde.
Every single time. He'd always chose the blonde. Always him. No remorse. No anything. Hell, he even hid from the election just as soon as he remembered the blonde wanting to ruin the country himself. He was selfish and chose to be powerless against him. The blonde knew that and lowered his own guard for him as well. They were equal, giving the other what they were missing or lacking.
Is that why they left? Did they not have the same connection as they did? Probably. Probably not. Sapnap was a good example of that doubt. As much as he wanted to believe that this type of intimacy was only for him, that would be a lie. He's believed enough lies already and it can be tiring even for him.
But now, as he stares up to the visions of yellow that belonged to the blonde, he realized that he wanted to be selfish even more.
