The dream wasn't much of anything, really. When George woke up on the couch with a blurry mind, he knew that his dream just passed him by, giving him no satisfaction of feeling the bliss of being inside the dream. He's waited so long for one dream and he couldn't even remember it when it comes by.
Completely dissapointing the brunet who just accepted the fact that he might never dream anymore.
That's two 'dreams' that he lost now. The person that named himself with the word and the ability to do so when he sleeps.
It dampened his mood a bit, but he saw Karl going outside a room that he choose to stay in for a while and decided to distract himself from every negative thought that lingered inside his head, dragging his feet towards the kitchen where the other was making a sandwich mindlessly.
Karl might've thought he was still asleep so when he turned his head to see him, he shrieked out before placing a hand to his chest, heaving heavy breaths.
"You scared me!" He exclaims, turning to his sandwich to see if it was ruined. To his delight, it was still in tact.
"Whoops?" The other brunet let out, shrugging as well to add to the effect. He thought Karl knew he was awake, but I guess he was wrong. It was funny seeing him scream out in fear though and he wondered where Sapnap was, not hearing frantic footsteps after the shriek.
Either he's still asleep, which George didn't doubt or he's just aware that Karl most likely just got scared of something useless.
Both brunet's giggled as they found the situation light unlike the few weeks that they've spent inside the house. The heavy atmosphere that was there for those weeks were slowly dissipating, turning into one that wasn't suffocating anyone inside the house just by seeing one another. Everyone was more than happy to accept the new change of atmosphere.
"I didn't realize you were awake, honestly." The former mentioned out, genuinely thinking the other was still asleep on the couch. He did think the other deserved the rest after the long nights of no sleep.
George shrugged once more and took the sandwich Karl made, taking a bite out of it before the other could protest.
It didn't stop Karl from jokingly arguing with him over the sandwich though. It didn't take long until he accepted that he had to make a new one.
"I just woke up when you walked to the kitchen." George finally responded to the sentence earlier, wanting to keep up a conversation with Karl. He wanted it to be lighthearted and not let himself slip back down on the deep hole he dug himself in for the pitiful weeks. The two brought him back up here and he's trying his best not to fall right back inside.
Karl nodded his head when he responded, thinking of another topic to keep the conversation up. Both knew they had to lighten the mood up a bit more than where they started.
They need everything back to normal.
Even though it won't be normal for George since he lost a best friend that he's leaned on for most of his life. He's trying.
The brunet had to accept he was gone and bring the memories he had of him with him, thinking of only the nicest ones that wouldn't describe him to be the monster he lost him to. He didn't blame anything on him, but rather blamed it on the fact that time wasn't on his side.
It just had to work that way somehow. Blame it on something else rather than on the things he really needed to blame it on.
George sighed out as he placed his sandwich on the plate, losing his apettite at his thoughts. The other notices it quite quickly and placed his own sandwich on a plate as well.
"You alright?" He asked as he studies the dull eyes of the other who flung them at his direction from the sudden question.
"Uh...Yeah. Sort of?" The other mumbled out as his response, not believing him answer either. Both knew he was bothered by everything, but both wanted to dance away from the topic in fear of ruining the mood.
Karl only sighed out and patted the other's head before seeing a groggy figure entered the kitchen as well. Sapnap barely processed anything and took Karl's sandwich, eating it as well.
"What is up with you two and taking other people's food??" Karl deadpanned as the other two looked at each other and laughed out, getting the rhythm of their friendship back on track so smoothly like nothing even happened.
Both missed each other dearly and realized that they needed to stick with eachother like before. They were best friends and they shouldn't leave the other just because of one's selfish thinking. It was an unspoken rule that both made when the friendship started.
The mood in the house was light and everyone knew that it was better this way, choosing to let the light atmosphere stay with them for as long as it wanted to stay. They knew they had to be careful with walking in case they cross a line, genuinely still concerned for the laughing brunet that was across them.
They were still guilty from the fact that they pulled something so important away from him. Even if he was a monster, he still had feelings and both knew that he thought of the brunet before he died. They didn't even get a chance to see each other.
George's laughter echoed around the kitchen, small giggles from the other two that were with him being heard as well, letting him know that they were him.
The brunet knew that if he listened close enough, he'd hear the stupid wheeze that only belonged to his blond friend. He accepted the fact that he wasn't here with him physically, but he knew that he wouldn't leave him here alone.
George was content with knowing he was here with him even in a form that he couldn't see him in.
He just was glad his friend was still there with him.
