And here he was now, rebuilding the very first building that existed inside the smp. Back to what it looked like in the beginning.
Of course, it wasn't them alone. Sapnap joined in after they invited him in and asked him to help them. He clearly agreed. Then the others came along.
He missed everyone that was here, especially Alyssa that wasn't seen anymore after the wars happened. He knew how much of a neutral person she was and thought about how badly it affected her which caused her to leave. He was tempted to follow in her footsteps, but his blonde friend wasn't with him so it was the only thing that anchored him down to stay in the smp.
The brunet was standing on top of a hill that overlooked the simple world that they lived in, seeing the various buildings that his friends built. They were all unique and creative, nothing like he can do. He admits, he can't really build like his friends can, but he didn't really care. It was good that way.
It was weird how a world he overlooked back then was now considered perfect in his eyes. Everything has changed from simple to complex just because of one person that entered in their lives.
The conversation he had with Tommy before he left was way behind him in time, but not in thoughts. He was always thinking about them, checking the mistakes he can use to change everything. He started talking to Sapnap more, telling him how much of an important friend he was, never leaving him out of anything. Dream didn't mind, he quite liked it.
He was closer to everyone else as well. It made him happy and it really messed with his brain how he didn't realize he was so distant towards others. His happiness was back and so was his smile. The very smile that the God missed.
He flinched when a sudden hand was placed on his shoulder, a blonde boy sitting down next to him as his feet dangled off the edge of the cliff.
"What are you thinking of?" Dream asked, the question laced with a sort of humor.
George only rolled his eyes, a soft smile on his face as he turned towards him.
"Nothing much. Just the smp." It wasn't really a lie, but it wasn't much of the truth either. The brunet simply shrugged at his thoughts, seeing them rather useless in arguing about whether he lied or not.
Dream only nodded and looked at the picture as well, smiling softly as he finds the scattered buildings beautifully completing the vast land. This was what he wanted to see when he first made the server. The beautiful, creative buildings that he and his friends made in peace.
Peace is such a hard thing to find in the future, George knew that. He didn't want to change this feeling that he missed so much. He also didn't want to change the fact that his best friend was finally back.
Both figures stared out in the open, the setting sun giving them a vibrant picture to stare at for hours on end. The two clearly wanted to do that, the silence between them comfortable and peaceful, no tension can be felt.
The grass crackled with the wind as it swayed to the direction where it was pushed, the trees leaves following with them, some of them falling from the branches.
Suddenly, footsteps were heard from behind then and George never snapped his head back so quickly with a panicked expression. Nothing good ever came from that sound, he remembered.
But, it was merely Sapnap who looked at the both of them with a large smile, sitting in the middle of them.
Dream was clearly worried for George's state earlier, the brunet gulping as he rubs his hands on his lap, thin layer of sweat on them. The blonde right now wasn't aware of anything that will happen to the future, but George was confident in changing everything for the better.
"You two always leave me behind and go somewhere together like you're about to make out!" Sapnap complained, crossing his arms with a playful glare pointed at the both of them.
Dream shrugged and wheezed out afterwards, the brunet only rolling his eyes, scoffing and pushing the ravenette shoulder.
"That's not true! We were just looking at the smp!" He defended, the other just rolling his eyes at the laid-back defense that he made. It was clear that he had feelings for the blonde with how he always stared at him.
It wasn't like it wasn't false. He does have feelings for the blonde, but the fact that he missed the sweet smile he made everytime he was happy wasn't helping his case of staring.
That smile was long gone from his time and he wanted to make up for the lost time by staring at him now, before it's gone.
"Yeah right!" Was his only response, making George laugh out at the pathetic response. It was clear that they argued a lot that they don't even have any excuses left for each other.
The brunet realized that he left his Sapnap alone in his own world, his friend must be so worried for him. He always did take him for granted and he felt so guilty for the fact he took him for granted.
He was willing to change that, though.
The three talked to each other until the moon came out, the brunet immediately looking at it as it shone down on him. He smiled, waving at it, knowing that the God was watching him somehow.
His two other friends looked at him with this weirded out expression, poking his cheek afterwards which caused him to flinch and snap his head towards them with a playful glare of his own.
The two only shrugged and laughed at his antics, Sapnap pushing his shoulder as he joked about him having a relationship with the moon.
This. This was what he missed out on.
