Chapter Eight: The Monster

"I just cant belive she didn't come back!" Mike tells Dustin and I. "She just messed up the compasses because she wanted to protect us! She didn't betray us."
"Mike calm down." Dustin trys.
"I shouldn't have yelled at her. I shouldn't have done that."
"Mike this isn't your fault."
"Yeah it's Lucas'."
"It wasn't his fault either."
"It wasn't his fault?"
"No." I agree with Dustin
"So your saying he wasn't way out of line?"
"Totally! But so where you."
"What?"
"And so was Eleven."
"Oh give me a break."
"No Mike you give me a break! All three of you were being little assholes! Me and Y/N were the only reasonable ones!  I was trying to get you guys to stop while Y/N was minding her business! But the bottom line is you pushed first. Any you know the rule, you draw first blood..."
"No no way! I'm not shaking his hand."
"You're shaking his hand Mike. Or be banished from the party." I say.
"Do you want to be banished from the party?" Dustin asks.
"No... "
"Good." Dustin and I say at the same time. I pull my hair up into a high ponytail and get my jacket on.
"Where are we going?" Mike yells.
"Where do you think?" I roll my eyes.
"We're going to get Lucas and then we're going to find Eleven." Dustin answers throwing Mike his stuff.

We bike up to Lucas' house. I ring the doorbell and wait for Lucas to answer. He slowly opens the door.
"What do you want?" He says. I hit Mike in the arm.
"I drew first blood so..." he holds his hand out. Lucas just ignores his hand and let's us in his house.
"Okay, I'll shake. On one condition. We forget the weirdo and head straight for the gate." He says. I sigh heavily. She's my sister and Mike obviously likes her.
"Then the deals off."
"Fine."
"Fine."
"No no no not fine! Guys seriously? Do you even remember what happened on the Bloodstone Pass?" I nod my head remembering but the others don't.
"We couldn't agree on what path to take so we split up the party and those trolls took us out one by one." I explain.
"And it all went to shit. And we were all disabled!" Dustin further explains. "So we stick together no matter what!"
"Yea I agree but this is the party right here in this room." Lucas says.
"El is one of us now." Mike says.
"Uhm no she's not. Not even close!" I really want to yell at him and tell him it's my literal sister but just hold it in. "She never will be! She's a liar, a traitor-" Lucas lists off all the things she isn't.
"She was just trying to keep us safe! She didn't mean to hurt you it was an accident!" Mike yells.
"An accident?"
"All right accident or not admit it it was a little awesome!" Dustin says.
"Awesome?"
"Yea she threw you in the air with her mind."
"I could have been killed!"
"Which is exactly why we need her! She's a weapon! Y/N and El could probably easily kill the monsters!" Mike says. I shrug, I had been using my powers to much this week. "Lucas, do you seriously wanna fight the Demogorgon with your wrist rocket? That's like R2-D2 going to fight Darth Vader. We're no use to Will if we're dead."
"If you two want to waste your time looking for a traitor go right ahead, cause I'm not spending my time on her anymore. No way!"
"Lucas just shake Mike's hand." I try. Lucas rolls his eyes.
"No. I'm going to the gate. I'm going to find Will." He says. I sigh. He's not going to get into the lab without getting hurt by someone. Especially if he goes by himself. I mean if he can even get there. He pushes us off and walks away.

Meanwhile...
[Third Person POV]
Eleven looks at a local grocery store 'Bradley's Big Buy.' Upbeat music plays as she walks inside. People stare at her concerned as she walks towards the frozen isle.
"Is your mom here?" A man who works at the grocery store asks her. "Your dad?" Eleven stares at the man and says
"Mouth breather." The guy raises his eyebrows as she opens a freezer door.
"What should we do?" The lady standing beside the man asks as Eleven stuffs her arms full of Eggo Waffle Boxes.
"Uh... Call the police." He says. Eleven starts to walk off.
"Excuse me! Young lady! You know you have to pay for those!" The man yells after her. "Hey stop right-" A lady loses control of her cart and crashes right in front of the man. Well, what most people assumed. "Please. You have to pay for those! Stop right there! Thief! Thief!" Eleven slams the doors shut with her mind causing the glass to brake. Everyone in the store watching as Eleven walks away.

[Back to normal POV]
"This is weird without Lucas." Dustin says.
"He should of shaken my hand." Mike sighs.
"He's just jealous."
"What are you talking about?" Mike questions.
"Sometimes your totally obliviousness just blows my mind." Dustin says. I giggle at the statement. "He's your best friend right?" Dustin continues.
"Yeah.. I mean I don't know.."
"It's fine we get it." I say.
"I mean, I didn't get here until the fourth grade and y/n didn't until second. And he had the advantage of living next door. But none of that matters. What matters is that he is your best friend and then a girl shows up and starts living in your basement and all you ever want to do is pay attention to her."
"That's not true!" Mike defends.
"Yes it is and you know it and he knows it but no one says anything until your all punching and yelling at each other  like.. Goblins with an intelligence score of zero. Now everything's weird."
"He's not my best friend."
"Yea right." Dustin laughs.
"I mean he is but so are you two and so is Will!"
"You can't have more than one best friend." Dustin says.
"Says who?" I ask.
"Says logic."
"Well I call bull on your logic." I smile.
"I agree because you guys are my best friends too." Mike says.
"Okay." Dustin says smiling.
"Whoa." Mike says as we stop at the grocery store.
"You don't think..."
"Definitely. Let's go." I say. Dustin and Mike nod and follow me.

[Third Person POV]
Lucas walks with his bike up to a fence. His compass shows that it is further inside the fence.
"Oh man." Lucas sighs as he looks either sides of the fence. He walks to the left hoping to find an opening.

[Normal POV]
"Eleven!"
"El!"
"Eleven!" We yell for El as we walk through the woods.
"Hey stop do you hear that?" Mike asks.
"What?" Dustin asks.
"El!" I yell for my sister.
"El?"
"Hey there frogface,toothless, Harrington." Troy takes a knife out of his pocket and opens it.
"Run guys come on!" I yell taking off.
"Shit!" Dustin runs after me. Mike following and catching up to me.
"You're dead Wheeler!"
"Mike y/n come on run!" Dustin yells to us. We run to a quarry. "Cramp!"
"Just keep going! Keep going!"Mike yells.
"Shit!" I grab a rock.  "I will throw this! Don't make me!"
"What you going to do Harrington?" I throw the rock hitting James. Mike misses. Dustin charges towards Troy with a stick. Instead of damaging Troy, he got captured with a knife to his kneck. I try and think of what to do. I could teleport me and Mike out but it wouldn't do any use to Dustin and they would see I have powers. 'Aha! Mind control!' I think. I go into Troys mind easily. Making him lower the knife.
"W-what just happened?" He stuttered. Dustin goes to run to Mike and I but Troy captures him again. I can't control anyone for long since I haven't had practice in years. I sigh. 'Here we go again.' I say. I wipe the blood coming from my nose and wait for Troy and James next action.
"Stay back or I cut him!" Troy yells still visibly shaken.
"What do you want?" Mike yells.
"I want to know how you did it!" Troy yells.
"How we did what?" Mike and me yell at the same time.
"I know you did something to me. Some nerdy science shit to make me do that."
"You mean piss yourself?" I say.
"Our friends have superpowers and they squeezed your tiny bladder with their minds." Dustin says.
"Shut up!" Troy said.
"I think I should save Toothless here a trip to the dentist. Help him lose the rest of his baby teeth."
"Let him go!" I yell.
"I'll let him go but first it's your turn Wheeler."
"My turn for what?"
"Wet yourself..."
"What?"
"Jump.. or toothless here gets an early trip to the dentist."
"Stop!"
"No."
"Mike don't." Mike's early words echo in my mind. 'A Friend is someone you'd do anything for.' "Please don't!" I yell.
"I'll cut him right now!"
"All right just hold on, hold on."
"Mike don't do it. I don't need my baby teeth, Mike!" Dustin yells. "Mike seriously don't!"
"Mike don't do it!"
"Seriously don't do it man! Seriously don't!"
"Troy I don't think this is a good idea man." James says actually showing sympathy whether it was sarcastic or not.
"Dentist opens in 5! 4! 3! 2!"
"Mike!!!!!" Dustin and I yell.
"One!"And then he jumped. The same place they found Will's fake body.
"He didn't-" We run up to the ledge carefully where Mike jumped. There he is levitating over the water. "El."
"Holy shit."
I whisper to myself. He levitates over us and lands on the ground. There is El walking towards us. So full of anger I push them both over with my powers. El brakes Troy's arm.
"She broke my arm. My arm!" Troy yells.
"Go." El says.
"Let's go!"
"Yea you better run! She's our friend and she's crazy! You come back here and she'll kill you!! You hear me? She'll kill you son of a bitches!" Dustin yells as they scurry off. He obviously didn't want to reveal that I had powers so he just said she. I laugh out of joy. I turn around to see el fall.
"El!"
"El are you okay? El?"
"Mike...y/n....I'm sorry." Eleven sobs.
"Sorry? What are you sorry for?"
"The gate...I opened it. I'm the monster." Eleven cry's.
"No no el your not the monster. Do you understand?You saved me." Mike pulls Eleven into a hug. Slowly I join it and Dustin afterwards.
