Chapter Eleven: Merry Christmas

One Month Later....
"Something is coming...something angry." Mike peers over his D&D board for dramatic affect. I had thrown out the Demogorgon piece because I knew how it would upset Will. "Hungry for your blood. It is almost here."
"What is it?" Will asks.
"It's the thessalhydra, I'm telling you." Dustin makes his point again.
"It's not the thessalhydra." Lucas rolls his eyes.
"I'm telling you it's the thessalhydra!" Dustin argues. I grin at my friends bickering.
"The thessalhydra!" Mike slams down the piece.
"Ugh!"
"Damnit!"
"Will your action!"
"What should I do? I-"
"Fireball him!" Lucas yells.
"Fireball the son of a bitch." Dustin smiles. I smile with my friends feeling like we were finally happy again.
"Fourteen!"
"Whooo!" We all cheer.
"Direct hit! Will the Wise's fireball hits the thessalhydra. It makes a painful.." Mike screeches imitating the thessalhydra. "And then it crumbles to the ground! It's clawed hand  reaches for you one last time and and..." Then he plays dead. We all cheer.
"Yes!" I high-five Will.
"Lucas cuts of its seven heads and Dustin places them in his bag of holding. You carry the heads out of the dungeon victorious and you present them to King Tristan. He thanks you for your bravery and service."
"Whoa,whoa,whoa,whoa,whoa. That's not it, is it?" Dustin asks.
"Well no there's a medal ceremony."
"A medal ceremony?" I ask making a face.
"What are you talking about?" Dustin adds on to my previous question.
"And-"
"The campaign was way to short." Lucas shrugs.
"Yeah!" Will agrees.
"It was ten hours." Mike says.
"But it doesn't make any sense." Dustin argues.
"It makes sense!"
"What about the lost knight?"
"Or the proud princess?"
"And those weird flowers in the cave!"
"I don't know it's-"
"Jeez, what's that smell." Jonathan says coming downstairs. "Have you guys been playing games all day or just farting?"
"Don't worry Jonathan they wouldn't in front of me." I tease.
"Oh that's just Dustin!" Lucas laughs. "He farted."
"Dustin farted!" Lucas makes fun of his friend blowing raspberries.
"Okay. Very mature Lucas." Dustin rolls his eyes. I laugh at my friends teasing.
"Will. Come on." Jonathan nods to Will.
"Here I'll walk you to the car." I smile.
"Bye Will." Mike and Dustin say.
"So you have fun?" Jonathan asks us.
"Yea." We say.
"Hey boys, y/n." Mrs. Wheeler says.
"Hi."
"Hey, Mrs. Wheeler."
"Hi!"
"Hey wish your mom a merry Christmas for me, okay?" She says to Will and Jonathan.
"Yeah."
"Yeah, thank you. Uh, Merry Christmas."
"Merry Christmas."
"So uh you win?"
"Yeah." Will smiles.
"Awesome." Jonathan says to us.
"Hey Jonathan wait up." Nancy says to Jonathan.
"Uh..."
"Merry Christmas." Nancy smiles handing Jonathan a present.
"Thanks um.. I didn't get you anything.. I-I feel bad."
"No. Uh.. No uh..It's not really a present. Well you'll see."Nancy explains. Then she leans forward and kisses him on the cheek. I just pretend I don't  see that.
"Merry Christmas." Jonathan says.
"Merry Christmas."
"You ready? Let's go."
"Yea."
"Hey Uhm Will I got you something." I say as we step out on the front porch. It's snowing out. I look up at the snow to see mistletoe greet me. I grab Wills arm gently and step of the porch. He looks up to see what I was looking at and immediately blushes.
"I- um... here." I say stammering and hand Will a present.
"Can I open it now?" Will asks.
"Yea sure." I smile.  He unwraps the Star Wars wrapping paper to find a new sketchbook and some colored pencils.
"I- I figured since you gave me your old one I would get you a new one." I say
"Thank you Y/N." Will smiles. I smile back at him. I stare at his soft brown eyes. I blink fast out of my daze blushing.
"You-your welcome. Merry Christmas Will." I smile as he walks off.
"Merry Christmas Y/N!" He waves as he gets into the car. I walk back onto the porch. Will shows Jonathan what I got him and opens Jonathan's present. I smile and walk back inside. Things were how they were supposed to be, well except one thing.
