Chapter Ten: The Upside Down

"They're gone." Mike says coming back into the gym.
"What?"
"Nancy and Jonathan. His car's gone."
"They're probably just sucking face somewhere."
"Gross."
"No. No way."
"Did they go with the chief?"
"I don't know!"
"No." Eleven says beside me.
"Did you see them? Do you know where they went?"
"Yes."
"Where? Where did they go?"
"Demogorgon." She says.

"Guys! Guys! This is crazy. We can't just wait around!"
"Mike, incase you forgot, we're still fugitives. The bad men are still looking for us."
"Yeah, and we don't even know where your sister is."
"El or Y/N can find them."
"Mike, look at them." Dustin rolls his eyes. "I still think we should stick to the chiefs plan."
"Exactly. We stay here, keep El out of sight and keep them safe. That's the most important thing remember? Besides she's okay she's with Jonathan." Lucas  covers everything.
"Yeah and she's kind of a badass now." Dustin says.
"Well where are you going? You just said stick to the plan!" Mike calls after Dustin.
"I am I'm just gonna go get some chocolate pudding." Dustin walks to the kitchen. "I'm telling you Lunch Lady Phyllis hoards that shit."
"Are you serious?"
"They need to be recharged!" Dustin yells. I see Lucas following after Dustin and El getting up to talk to Mike so I decide to go after them.
"I'll help carry." I smile to Mike and El and follow them.
"Found it! I knew she was hoarding it. I knew it!" Dustin starts to stuff his arms full of chocolate pudding.
"Yea!" Lucas grins as he also grabs a bunch of it passing some to me.
"Always saying she was out. Bald-faced liar! Mike!!!! I found the chocolate pudding!!!" Dustin yells. I laugh at my friends excitement.
"Okay!" Mike yells back.
We pour our findings onto a table.
"This will charge you twos battery right up, I'm telling you." Dustin says opening a can.
"I've never tried the school's pudding befor-."
"Guys! Guys!" Mike yells making us all turn around.
"What is it?" I ask softly.
"They found us." He says.
"How did they find us?"
"I don't know but they knew we were in the gym." Mike says as we run down a staircase.
"Lando." Dustin says.
"Got em!" Someone says as they open a door.
"Shit!"
"Go,go,go,go,go,go,go!" Mike yells running back up the stairs.
"Come on!"
"There they are. Freeze!"
"Back! Go back!" Mike yells desperately. "Go go! Go left!" We get trapped between two groups of people. I want to snap all their necks but I'm scared I'm too drained. Just then Eleven makes all of them bleed from their eyes.
"El!" I catch her as she falls but end up falling too.
"El! Y/N are you okay?" Mike asks shaking Eleven to wake up. "El!" Mike yells.
"Somethings wrong." I say.
"She's just drained." Dustin comments.
"No no no she won't wake up! El!" Mike tries to wake her up again.
"She's barely breathing." I say trying to wake my sister up.
"We gotta go!"
"Leave her and twelve too." Dr. Brenner, or previously known by me Papa says to them.
"I'm not going with you." I say and wrap my arms protectively over my sister. "And she isn't either."
"Tsk tsk. Step away from the children." He says.
"No!" Mike yells. "You want them? You have to kill us first."
"That's right!"
"Eat shit!" Three guards wrap their arms around Mike Lucas and Dustin. I would use my mind control but there's no use.
"No! No!"
"Get off me!"
"You idiot!"
"No!"
Dr. Brenner comes up to me and El. I tighten my grip over my sister.
"Get off me!"
"Ow! Let me go!"
"Eleven? Eleven can you hear me?" Dr. Brenner comes up to me. "Eleven?"
"Papa?" She asks.
"Yes! Yes it's me your Papa." He says.
"Get off of me!"
"I'm here now girls." I ball up my fist and spit in his eyes.
"Go to hell you piece of shit." He rubs his eyes for a few seconds before continuing his fake comfort speech.
"Twelve! Language! I'm only here to help you. I'm going to make you girls better. You're very very sick."
"Let them go! Let them go you bastard!" Mike screams. Eleven whimpers looking between Dr Brenner and our friends.
"I'm going to take you home and make you well again." He says reaching to hold her cheek."Where we can make all of this better, so no one else gets hurt." 
"Bad." Eleven mumbles. "Bad. Mike. Mike." She reaches out to Mike. "Mike." She cry's. Then the lights start to flicker.
"Blood." Mike and me say at the same time.
"What?" Lucas asks.
"Blood." I repeat. We hear bangs against the wall next to us.
"Demogorgon." Dustin realizes. All the gaurds let go of Lucas Dustin and Mike drawing their guns.
"Go,go,go,go,go!" Mike yells. Dustin picks up Eleven and we run.
"Come on come on!"
"Go go!"
"Oh my god!" We run into a classroom. "Sorry. Hold on, were almost there. Were almost there." Dustin says "Come on come on." "Help help."
"Get her on the table." Everyone helps put El on the table. I lean on the table exhausted. Mike grabs Els hands.
"Just hold on a little longer, okay?" Mike comforts El. "He's gone. The bad man's gone. We'll be home soon. And my mom... She'll get you your own bed. You can visit Y/N all the time. You can eat as many Eggos as you want. And we can go to the snowball."
"Promise?" El softly asks.
"Promise." Mike sniffles. We hear a growl again and lots of gunshots. I lift my head up.
"Is..is it dead?" Dustin asks from beside me. A moment later the demogorgon slams through the door.
"Go go go go!" Mike yells.
"Get the wristrocket! Get the wrist rocket now!" Dustin screams while they all get Lucas' wristrocket out.
"Go go go go!" Mike yells again. I face the Demogorgon ready to attack.
"Take it out now!"
"Get the rocks get the rocks get the rocks!"
"Getting the rocks!"
"Give me one!"
"Come on!"
"Go go kill it!"
"Fire fire!" Lucas hits the demogorgon only making it angryer.
"Give me another one."
"Kill it! Bastard!" Another rock down and an even more angry demogorgon.
"Get one! Get one!"
"Come on kill the bastard!"
"It's not working!"
"Hit him again!"
"Kill him!"
"Keep going!"
"Get get get.."
"Come on kill it!"
"Come on! Go go go!" No one notices me and El standing side by side ready to attack. Lucas pulls back the wristrocket. Boom! It crashes again the wall. El and I had thrown it back.
"Eleven stop!" Mike goes to stop her. She throws Mike and I back.
"El I can help!" I yell.
"No." She says. I watch in disbelief as she walks up to the Demogorgon. She looks back.
"Goodbye Mike. Good bye Y/N." She whispers.
"No more." She says to it. She puts her arm out. The monster makes a terrible screeching sound making us all cover our ears. I close my eyes crying as I watch her kill the Demogorgon. I open my eyes. The lights had switched on and El and the monster were gone.
"Eleven?" I yell getting up.
"El? El?" Mike screams. "El!"
"Eleven!" Lucas yells.
"El?" I cry.
"Eleven!" Dustin yells as well.
"El where are you? Eleven? El?" Mike cry's out.

I sit in an ambulance waiting for my parents or brother to get here. I sob into my hands. I lost my sister. I can't believe all this happened. I see Steve pull up in his car.
"Y/N!" He yells running to me. "Your okay. Oh my god- you won't believe what just happened." I hop off the ambulance and hug him. I cry into his arm. "Mom and dad are at the house." Steve says and continues to comfort me as I cry.

We all sit in the waiting room. Mike and I being the only ones out of the party who stayed up to wait for Will. Dustin is asleep on Lucas' shoulder. I sit there taking in the past few days when Jonathan comes in meaning Will was up.
"Guys guys he's up." I say shaking Lucas and Dustin up.
"Will is up. Guys, Will is up." Mike helps me shake them awake. Lucas and Dustin mumble at each other.
"Guys come on!" Mike says as me and him dash out the door to Will's room.
"Byers!!" Mike runs up to Will
"Will!!" I yell as we all hug him.
"Be careful. Be careful with him." Joyce laughs.
"Move!" Dustin hugs Will as well.
"Guys, guys. Go easy on him." Jonathan smiles walking in.
"You won't believe what happened when you were gone man!" Lucas starts.
"It was mental!"
"You had a funeral!"
"Jennifer Hayes was crying!
"and Troy peed himself!"
"What?"
"In front of the whole school!"
"Yes!" Will coughs for a second.
"Are you okay?" I ask.
"It got me." Will says. "The Demogorgon."
"We know." Mike mumbles. "It's okay. It's dead. We made a new friend."
"She is a number like me." I say.
"Does she have powers too?" Will asks.
"Yea, she has telekinesis and some stuff you can do with your mind." I smile.
"She stopped it. She saved us." Mike adds. "But she's gone now."
"Her names Eleven." Dustin perks up.
"Well we call her 'El' for short." Lucas explains.
"Her and Y/N flipped a van with her mind!" Dustin tells forgetting Will was listening.
"Did you use your powers?" Will asks me serious.
"Yea but I'm okay." I say smiling. Will nods. My friends and I continue to tell our adventures to Will.
