Tahimik kaming dalawa, nakatanaw sa pag-agos ng tubig sa batis. The woman of my dreams is now seating next to me again, after waiting for her for years. Her head is leaning on my shoulder. I wrap my arms around her shoulder and slightly tap it.
Lumayo siya sa lugar na ito ng maraming taon. For so many years I waited and hoped to embrace her again. I'm waiting up to this moment and I'm willing to wait until the end of every lifetime I could possibly have.
Nasa tabi ko na siya noon pero naging tanga at bulag ako. Call me jerk, asshole or dumb for hurting her, but don't accuse me that I never love her, because the first time I saw her, I started to believe that God truly sent Angels on earth. I don't know how good I am at my previous life, because I knew I'm blessed when God sent Ava to the walls of Hacienda Del-cojuanco.
“Who are you and what are you doing here?"
Hindi ako makapaniwala. Paano niya naakyat ang ganito kataas na bakod? She almost made me panic.
Naalala ko pa ang usapan namin ni Lolo nitong nakaraang araw.
"I'm planning to put electric wire in the back walls! What do you think ,Hijo?" Nakangiti siyang umakbay sa akin.
"Masyado ng mataas ang pader doon, Lolo." Mahina akong natawa. "Wala naman sigurong mag-iisip na umakyat doon?"
He tapped my shoulder. "Kampante ka? Paano kung meron? Sige nga, pustahan tayo."
Nag kibit-balikat ako. "Sa tinagal mong naninirahan dito Lo, ngayon mo pa naisip 'yan?"
"Naisip ko lang. Kamusta ka na pala, Apo? Ang sabi ng pinsan mo, iniiyakan mo pa rin ang ex mo?" Nakangisi na tanong niya sa akin. Napailing na lang ako, ayaw ng mag kwento pa.
“N-naligaw lang po.
“Naligaw?” Tumango siya at ngumiti. “Naligaw habang nakasabit sa lubid?”
I can see fear in her eyes. Ilang araw bago umalis si Lolo para mag bakasyon, nakipag pustahan pa siya sa akin. And now, I'm thankful that I decided to check the walls and why my Grandfather suddenly decided to put more security systems here.
“This place is exclusive. Only few are allowed to be here.”
“May hinahanap lang ho akong halaman."
“Halaman?” Bakit dito pa siya napunta? Wala bang garden sa lugar nila na nagtitinda ng mga halaman?
“S-salamat.” Binaba ko siya. Hindi ko maalis ang tingin ko sa mukha niya.
“Hindi ka naman mag nanakaw diba?”
Damn it! Hindi ko na dapat siya tinatanong ng ganito. Dapat dalhin ko na siya sa mga gwardiya at sila na ang bahala na mag dala sa kanya sa presinto. Ano bang ginagawa ko? I should do the right thing, reporting the incident. Tama.
“Huwag na huwag kang magpapakita kahit kanino. Oras na malaman nilang outsider ka, siguradong sa presinto ka dadalhin.” Ano nga kasi ang sinabi ko? Damn. “Suotin mo ‘to.” I covered her and brought her into my house.
“Pwede bang asawahin mo nalang ako?” I want to massage my forehead. Ooh heaven, I only asked you to let me move on, why are you giving me a Goddess wife now?
Ava came and my life changes. I no longer eat my dinner and breakfast with Melissa, but also with her. The dishes isn't what excite me anymore, it's sharing dinner with Ava, next to me.
"Anong nangyari sa kamay mo?" Nakita ko na may benda ang kamay nya. I shouldn't notice it, but damn, I can't help but see every single details about this woman. I can't help but appreciate her simple ways.
