Charles x Henry One Shots!

Marriage

This is the first of four follow up chapters for "Meeting" this is part one of the happy ending.

Henry's POV:

       It had been almost a year since Charles and I became a couple, a year since I broke free from my past. Yet, it only took a week after we began dating for me to realize that the pilot was the one I wanted to be with for the rest of my life.

       I stared down at the sleeping brunette in my lap, unable to help the smile that had formed on my face as I slowly rubbed his back. Thoughts skipped around in my mind, wondering how I would propose to him.

        Suddenly, a realization hit me, I needed to ask his parents for Charles' hand in marriage. But, throughout the year we had been together, never once had I heard the pilot mention his family. I didn't even know if Charles had any family.

          I knew I'd have to ask eventually, deciding to wait until morning. With a sigh, I picked up my boyfriend, carrying him to our shared bedroom. After tucking the brunette in, I crawled in beside him, falling asleep within minutes.

           I was woken up by the smell of breakfast, rolling over to check the time. My phone read 7:26am. Stretching, I got up, making my way downstairs. I was greeted by the sight of Charles making breakfast, only wearing a tee shirt and briefs.

"Good morning, sweetheart."
"Morning, Hen!"

          The brunette chirped back, watching as I poured myself a cup of coffee, sitting down at the kitchen island afterwards. I took a few sips before asking the question.

"I have a question. I'm sorry if this is a sensitive topic, but are your parents still around? I never hear you mention them."

            Charles pauses for a second before speaking, his answer surprising me.

"Galeforce is my dad."

            Just as I was about to talk, the pilot continued.

"He's not my biological father, though. He adopted me after finding me in a raid. This may be hard to believe, but both of my actual parents were Toppats. My father died before I was born, however, then mother got remarried to her second husband, and had my half brother, Burt, with him. The government raided the base, mother was arrested, and father took off. He took Burt with him, but not me. Galeforce found me and took me back to the government base. He didn't want to see me go to an orphanage, so he adopted me. I was only five when it all happened."

                I stared at my boyfriend in silence, processing what I was just told. I would have never expected any of his past. His biological parents were Toppats? Charles has a half brother? And Galeforce of all people was his dad? Yet, the whole Galeforce thing did make sense.

"I'm sorry you went through all of that."

              Was what I was finally able to mutter out, almost feeling bad for asking. Yet, Charles' reaction to my apology made the guilt fade away. The pilot shrugged before smiling.

"It happens, ya know? Honestly I'm glad that I have Galeforce instead of the Toppats."

              I nodded slowly and began thinking. I quickly decided that when Charles and I went to the base later that day, that I would ask Galeforce for Charles' hand in marriage.

             Once we finished breakfast and got dressed, the two of us headed to base, listening to music and loudly singing along the whole way. Before too long, we arrived.
