Henry's POV:

Charles and Ellie had managed to drag me to a karaoke restaurant, one where all you had to do was write down your name and what song you chose from the list. Then, once it was your turn, you'd get up on the stage in the middle of the restaurant.

No way in hell was I singing tonight.

My two best friends were a lot more outgoing than I was, both of them immediately writing down their name and a song on separate pieces of paper. Meanwhile, I just sat silently beside the pilot, trying to avoid doing karaoke. Though it'd be fun to see Ellie and Charles do it.

After thinking for a moment, I actually never heard the brunette sing. I had heard Ellie a couple times since she liked to sing at the absolute worst times. Yet, my curiosity began to build for the man beside me.

Once our drink orders were in, Ellie was called, her song being announced as Raise Hell By Dorothy. I immediately recognized the song, watching as the red head took the stage, glaring at a few men who were staring at her with wanting eyes.

She began the song when the music began, her voice amazing compared to how it sounded when she decided to belt out a song during a stealth mission.

Ellie really put on a performance, flipping off a table of guys who were whistling at her. Instead of giving the men attention, she turned to a table of women, winking at them with a smirk.

Right before the song ended, our waiter brought our drinks, Charles and I thanking him before taking a sip, setting down the beverages to applaud when Ellie finished her song, placing the microphone onto its stand before heading back over to our table. With a chuckle, I made the comment,

"Sounded good El, especially since this was an appropriate time to sing."

With that, she grabbed an ice cube from her drink, throwing it at my head. All three of us laughed, just having a great time. The red head took a sip of her cocktail, looking at me while still holding the glass.

"You need to get up there, Henry. Charles and I are doing it."

I quickly shook my head, not liking the idea of even holding a mic. There's only one thing that could get me up there, and it'd be if it was a duet with Charles. Just the thought of a duet with the adorable pilot made a light pink tint dust my cheeks.

My thoughts were cut short by the waiter returning, ready to take our food orders. Once the other two at the table ordered, I did as well, just waiting for Charles to be called.

Finally, after what seemed like forever, the pilots name was called, followed by the song. His song choice surprised me, it being Back From The Edge by James Arthur.

As he made his way to the stage, people were already whistling at the brunette, cheering. It almost made me a little bit jealous, how people were already swooning over him. Charles was extremely attractive, that was undeniable. The crowds newfound obsession for him only increased when the song started, the pilot beginning to sing.

Dear lord...his voice was HOT!

If it was physically possible, I would've melted right into my seat, my heartbeat quickening as a bright red blush became visible on my face. Ellie noticed and laughed at me, gently smacking me in the forehead.

It was obvious that Charles was really getting into it, smiling as he sang and danced a little bit on the stage, able to move around pretty well since the mic was wireless. The audience cheered as he hopped off the stage, making his way around the room.

Hearing him sing only made my feelings for the brunette stronger. Yet, I didn't know if he even remotely felt the same way, it seemed impossible that he'd like me back. But, maybe I was wrong.

I noticed quite a few girls, and even a couple guys try to hand him little slips of paper, or a bit of a napkin, but he either didn't notice, or simply pretended to not see it. On the line "Did you see them build me up?" Charles came and leaned against me, motioning to the other people in the room.

"Well I just tear myself down."

He sang while turning towards me, dragging his free hand down my chest, swiftly turning and walking away, continuing to sing afterwards. I felt like I wasn't even breathing anymore, becoming one hundred percent captivated by the brunette.

As the song came to a close, Charles returned to the stage, smiling brightly when it finished, laughing some at the cheers he was getting. Once the microphone was back in its respective spot, the pilot came back to our table, looking over at me. I must've still been flustered since he asked,

"You okay, Hen?"

I quickly nodded, an almost goofy smile making itself known on my face. Seeing him perform actually made me want to get up there, grabbing the list of songs to look at. Ellie and Charles perked up, glancing between each other excitedly. The pilot was the first to ask,

"What are you going to sing?"

It took me a moment to build the confidence up to ask, flipping to the duets page.

"Will you do a duet with me, Charles?"

He immediately smiled brightly, wrapping one arm around my shoulders as he began to look over the list as well, pointing at one.

"How about this one? I know that we both know the lyrics."

The brunette suggested, motioning to the song Rewrite The Stars from The Greatest Showman. I nodded in agreement, writing down the name of the song along with mine and Charles names on a paper, putting it in the line.

I can't believe I'm doing this.

Third Person POV:

When their names were called, Charles immediately jumped up, the crowd excited to see him up again. Yet, Henry was much more hesitant, the pilot grabbing his hand and dragging him to the stage. Luckily for the ex-convict, the brunette had the opening part.

As the song began, both were relieved to hear that it was the Reimagined version, Charles starting the song. The pilot made sure to make eye contact with Henry, non-verbally assuring him that everything would be okay.

As the chorus began, the more extroverted man grabbed Henry's hand, dancing around with a smile on his face. When it came time for the ex-con to sing, he gave a comforting squeeze to his hand, giving Henry the confidence he needed to begin singing, his voice actually very pleasant.

Though he was obviously nervous at first, he slowly began to loosen up, getting more into it. Especially when the two were singing together.

"All I want is to fly with you."
"All I want is to fall with you."
"So just give me all of you."

As it came to the ending, Henry unexpectedly changed up the lyrics, smiling as he stepped closer to Charles.

"You know I want you,"
"It's not a secret I try to hide,"
"And I can have you,"
"We're bound to last and my hands aren't tied."

Right when the song ended, the two men pulled the other in at the same time, sharing a passionate kiss as the crowd went absolutely insane with cheers and applause, only a few people pouting since they now couldn't have the pilot.

When they returned to the table, their food had just been served, noticing that Ellie was nowhere to be found. Glancing around, the two realized that she was over at the table of ladies from earlier, flirting with a couple of them.

Henry and Charles laughed softly at their friends shenanigans, sharing one more kiss before eating their meals, watching as other people sang karaoke, no one even coming close to being as good as their performance, however.

It's not impossible after all.
