(Warning! Violence, blood (of course), and kinda sorta insane Charles, not full blown psycho, but still enough to be considered insane Charles."
Charles POV:
I was waiting for my husband, Henry, to return to my helicopter. As I waited, I nervously fidgeted with any item that was nearby. Every time we had a mission, I worried for Henry's safety. After all, anything could happen! He could be captured, injured, or even killed at any point.
It still angered me that I wasn't allowed to be by his side, limited to just being a pilot, all because of an incident when I was in my early 20's. Galeforce worried that I would end up becoming unstable again if I was placed in a position where combat was possible.
The door of the helicopter opening pulled me from my thoughts, rushing to the passenger area. Relief washed over me when I saw my lovely husband standing there. Yet, the sight of blood made my thoughts run wild once again.
Approaching the shorter man, I tilted his head up, noticing the confused look that spread across his features. I gently wiped away a streak of red liquid on his cheek, glaring at the cuts and forming bruises. Henry attempted to speak, yet I cut him off, barely able to restrain the fury rising in my chest.
"Who did this to you, Hen?"
It took a moment for my husband to respond, obviously caught off guard by my stern tone. Yet, he finally did speak.
"I had a little run in with Reginald, but it's not that bad. I only got a little bit beat up, hun, I'm okay."
Though he tried to assure me that everything was alright, I couldn't stop the fire inside my mind from spreading. Without saying a word, I gave the man in front of me a kiss, walking away afterwards.
I grabbed a few different weapons before leaving the aircraft, Henry not questioning what I was doing. Yet, I was certain that he already knew exactly what was going on.
Making my way into the Toppats base, I managed to slip past most of the clan members, not wanting to be spotted and possibly stopped. Yet, my eyes soon fell on two men, one that I recognized as Reginald, and the other as his right hand man.
Pulling out one of the guns I had brought with me, I took aim, pointing the firearm at the man beside the leader. Pulling the trigger, the bullet left, entering straight into the back of the right hand mans head. As he fell to the ground, Reginald cried out, panicked over what just occurred.
I walked towards the two, my eyes narrowed as I approached the man who hurt my sweet Henry. Once Reg was able to pull his eyes away from the corpse, he looked to me, screaming with tears in his eyes.
"Why?! Why would you kill him?! What did he ever do to you?"
"It's not what he did, it's what you did. You hurt my husband, Reginald, made him bleed."
"This is about Henry? I know I hurt your husband, but you just killed mine!"
A chuckle left my throat, amused at how distraught the Toppat in front of me was. Yet, without warning, Reginald attempted to attack me, lifting his fist to punch. But, he was only able to punch my chest, missing my face.
In one swift movement, I body slammed the man into the floor, pinning him down. Fear was apparent in his eyes, not knowing what I was planning. Searching around in my pockets, I located a pocketknife. Opening the blade, I began to drag the sharp edge all over Reg's face and chest, feeling myself grin when he writhed in pain under my touch.
Once I felt satisfied with what I had done, I closed the knife and got up, the bloodied man puzzled by my actions. With a shaky voice, Reg questioned me, his body trembling.
"Wha...aren't you gonna kill me?"
After thinking for a moment, I shook my head, knowing that what I was about to do would hurt worse than being killed.
"No, I won't. You'll just have to live with the fact that harming my Henry got your husband killed. Your decision got him killed."
Leaving the base, I headed back to the helicopter, pleased to see that my husband was still there, just casually scrolling through his phone. When he noticed I was back, he looked up from the screen and smiled brightly. I sat down beside Henry and grinned as well, his happiness being extremely contagious.
H-"Wow you really kept it clean, you've barely even got any blood on you."
C-"Yeah, it was a distance kill. Left Reginald alive though, just got rid of his partner."
H-"Why didn't you just kill them both?"
C-"I knew it'd hurt Reg more to be alive while his husband was gone, knowing that it was because of a choice he made."
H-"That's very true actually. You're so intelligent, hun, that's one of the many reasons that I love you."
C-"I love you too, Hen, more than I could ever express in words."I pulled my love in for a kiss, separating again after a moment. Realizing that it was getting late, I got up, making my way back to the cockpit. Henry, however, followed me, sitting down in my lap after I sat down. I started up the aircraft while he got comfortable.
Before too long, we were in the air, half of my focus being on flying, the other half on the man in my lap. I knew that Henry enjoyed being in the cockpit with me, even though I technically wasn't supposed to allow it during flight. I just couldn't turn down any of his requests, he was too dang cute!
It didn't take too terribly long for us to return to base, making a smooth landing. When I looked down, I realized that Henry had fallen asleep in my lap. With a gentle smile, I picked him up, carrying the man all the way back to my house.
When we arrived, I took off his shoes and jacket for him, tucking my sleeping husband into bed afterwards. I knew that I still needed to shower before bed, yet I still just stood there for a moment, admiring Henry.
After a couple of seconds, I leaned down, brushing some of his black hair away before placing a soft kiss on his forehead, whispering,
"I'll always protect you, no matter what."
