It was now late February. Harry and Draco were having the time of their lives together. Of course, there were small fights here and there, but the men were steadily improving their communication skills. No matter how bad their fight was, their rule was that the other man was never allowed to sleep alone.
The lack of a dark mark made a huge impact on Draco. He was finally free from so much of his past that haunted him. Without the constant visual reminder on his skin, he felt himself being more open to Harry about everything that happened. Being able to separate Malfoy from Draco really allowed him to really figure out who he was.
That's not to say that any of his teasing stopped. On the contrary, Draco was teasing Harry more and more each passing day, but that was just how he showed affection. That was realized within the first few days of living together by Harry. At this point in time, he could hold his own against Draco, and then some.
"Come on Draco, we have to finish up at The Manor today so we can get your mother!"
"You kept me up too late", he whined.
"Now you know how I feel whenever you wake me up. Besides, you're the one who wouldn't let me sleep. I'm the one who should be complaining."
"Are you telling me you didn't enjoy it?"
"Obviously I enjoyed it you git. Stop twisting my words and get up."
"Or you can get in here with me and we can continue", teased Draco.
"The sooner we get everything fixed up for your mother, the sooner that we can come back here. Or use your bed in The Manor. And then we have our trip to France."
"My bed at The Manor? Say no more darling give me 15 minutes. I want to finish packing up all of my stuff while we're there too. Then we can start moving everything in here."
Draco continued talking as he got out of bed and got ready.
"I was thinking that we have a lot of clothes that we share, so those can go in the closet in here, and then the stuff we normally don't share can stay in our respective rooms. You know you can take whatever of mine that you want, anyway, but I think what we wear most frequently we can just leave here in our room to make it easier."
"I'm alright with that. I love the sound of our room though. Our house, our clothes."
"Who knew you were so possessive?", Draco teased, slipping on his shirt.
"Only with what's important to me."
Harry kissed down Draco's neck as Draco leaned back into him, sighing in contentment. It was hard to tell who was wrapped around who's finger more tightly at this point.
"Do you want me to make some breakfast?"
"Do we have time to go out for breakfast?", Draco asked tentatively.
"To pick something up or sit down?"
"Whatever you're comfortable with."
The two men had tentatively been seen in public a few times in the wizarding, but always in a group. There had been stares and a few comments, but Harry and their friends immediately shut everything down. This was why they typically went out in glamours when alone, or they just went to a muggle establishment.
"You know I love you and I'll do whatever you're comfortable with. You are always my number one priority. If you want to go public with our relationship, I'm perfectly fine with it. If you want to keep it private and between us and our friends, I'm also fine with it.
