Draco made him feel so... giddy. Harry couldn't remember the last time he felt this happy and carefree. He felt like he could truly be himself.
He doesn't know why he kept comparing Draco to Ginny. The two men were just friends after all. But there was such a difference between the two relationships.
Ginny always made him feel like he had to prove something. She loved attention, it made her shine. And that's not a bad thing. But Harry couldn't handle it. Not when the attention came to him.
He felt like he was constantly holding her back. She should be with someone who supports her and wants the same things. Harry wasn't quite sure what he wanted to do. He was controlled for years, and as a result had no sense of self. His friends always seemed so sure of themselves. Harry supposed that he put up that false wall as well, but it was just a facade.
Truthfully Harry and Ginny hadn't spoken much since their breakup. Harry was the one who had ended things, for good this time. She hadn't taken it too well, and he didn't know why. He realized that they worked best as friends, but now he wasn't sure he could call them that.
He sighed and went back to lunch.
"There's no good dwelling on things that will make me upset.", he mumbled.
Harry filled two bowls with the food and set it on the counter. He grabbed two drinks, and set the table.
"Dray?", Harry yelled up the stairs.
                              "Yes?"
                              "Lunch!"
                              "Be down in a moment!"
While Draco was finishing up whatever he was doing, Harry made a small salad. He was craving pizza for dinner so he decided to add something healthy to lunch as Draco had done with breakfast.
"My positive impact on your health.", Draco teased.
"You have made a positive impact actually. So thank you."
"Anything for my Queen.", Draco said winking.
"I think I prefer Sunshine to Queen."
                              "Hmm?"
"You've called me Sunshine a few times. I like it."
                              Draco raised an eyebrow.
"You're telling me I've let that slip? On multiple occasions?"
                              "Yeah..."
"And you never teased me about it?"
"Why would I tease you? I like it."
                              "Oh."
They ate lunch in silence, and Harry hated every second of it. He drew the line at washing the dishes in silence as Malfoy awkwardly leaned against the counter watching him.
                              "Are you okay Draco?"
                              "Why wouldn't I be?"
"You're deflecting. And you didn't talk to me at all during lunch."
"Well you didn't talk to me either.", he huffed.
                              "You were brooding."
                              "I do no such thing!"
Harry turned around suddenly to face Draco, a perfect replication of Draco's facial expression set on his face.
"How did you know that was the face I was making?"
"I've watched you since I was 11. I like to think I know you pretty well. That's your brooding face. You're trying to pretend that nothing is bothering you, but you're so bothered that the mask you put up is cracking.
