12. In Love? (Mollie's POV)

In a few days, it was going to be Jake's birthday, Carl's best friend. He's going to have his party at Kaila's house, because it's much bigger than his. He lives with his Mum and younger brother, Michael, who is apparently really gorgeous, but he wouldn't notice me, because I'm not the type of girl that gorgeous boys like Michael prefer. Oh well. I'll find someone eventually.

Anyway, Jake's going to have his party at Kaila's, and he has invited just over 100 people, even though there's room for more than triple that amount. He has decided that the party is going to start at around eleven-ish in the morning, and end around midnight, and he's going to hire a professional cook and he's going to make mostly Italian food (for Isabelle, who is, of course, Italian, and because they're, like, TOTALLY in love), but will also be doing other little snacks and stuff. Then everyone invited is going to an ice-skating rink, which has been booked for a private party. That's going to be fun seeing as I can't even roller skate, let alone ICE skate! Thankfully, Kaila promised that she'd help me skate around, and make sure that I don't fall over. After that, we're all going back to Kaila's for a jacuzzi/karaoke/movie marathon. Obviously, we're not all going to fit in the jacuzzi, so we've arranged times for people to go in, with 5 minutes in between to refill the water and make sure it's all nice and clean. We don't want anyone thinking that we're all dirty tramps now, do we? Then from then on, Jake has asked if we could turn the basement into a mini-nightclub, which is a great idea.

All of this has been run past Cynthia, and she has agreed. She loves having parties, and showing off her house and everything in it.

Luke knows about the party, but Kaila hasn't invited him. I can understand why, though. Luke IS very romantic, and Kaila totally ISN'T, and I know Kaila prefers boys chasing her rather than her chasing them, and that's exactly what she's got. Since they started going out at the Valentines Disco at school, they've only been out together once, and that was at the bowling alley. Ever since that first date, Luke has texted, rang and IM'd her constantly. At first, it was fine and actually quite cute. But then it was near enough every hour of every day. Of course, Kaila as turned him down at every request, but he seems to enjoy it, so he asks more. Yesterday, Kaila said yes just to make him shut up, and he didn't ring until a few hours later, asking her where she was. She had gone, 'A date to the park? I haven't arranged that. Anyway, I'm busy so I need to go.' But, much to her disappointment, Luke had said very calmly, 'Don't worry about it babe, we can go another day!'

For the rest of the, she had stalked around the house, moaning about how annoying he is. I nearly said at one point that if he's so annoying, then why don't she just dump him, but then I thought better of it. Nobody told Kaila what to do, not even her Mum. Not that she'd get angry at me, it's just best to let her decide, because that's how she prefers it. 

Anyway, so Kaila hasn't invited Luke to the party, and he is a bit mad, much to Kaila's enjoyment. It's the first time since they started 'dating' that he's been mad at her. He hasn't complained or anything, but it's obvious, because he rang her up and started talking about Jake's party, because his best friend is Michael, and Michael is Jake's little brother, so Luke knows all about it. Unfortunately, Jake has said that Michael isn't aloud to invite anyone, just in case his 'stupid little mates' spreads it around and crashes the party. Gotta admit, he has got a point. Apart from Luke, all of Michael's friends at school are total rebels. They go around trying to set the school on fire and setting off the fire alarms. Once, they nearly blew up the whole science lab.

So that means that Michael can't invite Luke, and he really wants to go because he wants to see Kaila and ice-skate with her, as a mini-date/party thing, but Kaila hasn't invited him so he's getting a bit narked. Obviously Kaila can invite who she wants because the party's taking place at her own house, but she's told Jake that she's not inviting anyone apart from me, so he's cool with that.
