Zola 'Slim' Monroe || That same night...
"Hello?" I knew damn well I shouldn't have even been on the phone with him. I knew that I would end up regretting this, but I didn't care about consequences right now.
I needed my issue and I was gonna get it.
"Uh— hey. Were you asleep?" I asked, sitting back down on my bed and I heard some shuffling on the other end before he responded, "Nah, I was just, um—watching the Golden Girls and packin'. I gotta head out tomorrow. I'm surprised to be hearin' from, especially this late,"
I awkwardly fiddled with the edge of my pillow, "Yeah, I know. But, um, I was wondering if you could come see me?" I was hesitant to even let the words slip from my mouth. Once I did, I knew it would be too late to retract.
Zola, what the fuck are you doing?
"Uh— You wanna see me? What made you change ya' mind?"
I rolled my eyes and fell back onto my bed. I wasn't trying to play 21 questions. It's bad enough I was even doing this and I didn't need him making that process any harder.
"I'll let you figure that out,"
"Hm," He mumbled and I heard some more shuffling before he finally responded,
"Aight, I'll be there."
With that, I ended the call and slipped into an oversized flannel before heading to the bathroom to freshen myself up real quick before returning to my bedroom. I made sure my room was presentable and I lit a candle before finally changing out my CD and popping in my Greatest Love Songs compilation disk.
Once I had the mood set, I went and sprayed some perfume behind my ears, on my collar bones, wrists and on my thigh.
After that task, I went into the kitchen and poured myself a shot of the Dussé Kori had just to calm down.
One day, I'd get enough of putting myself in compromising situations just for temporary pleasures. But, the temporary pleasure that would come tonight would be worth the consequences...I think.
Within twenty minutes, my buzz was intensified and all of my shame was out of the window. I was ready to get down and get him up out of here.
A few minutes later, I heard a rhythmic knock on the door and I went and opened the door before Kori could get to it. I didn't need her nosy ass knowing about anything, and I hoped I could get him out of here before she had knowledge of him being here.
Ugh! What was I doing?!
"Wassup?" He asked as I opened the door wide enough for him to enter. Just when I thought the liquor had did away with my nerves, they came rushing right back in.
"Hey," I shut and locked the door before grabbing his arm and leading him into my bedroom that smelled just like Fresh Linen, thanks to my candle.
As soon as he entered, I instructed him to take his shoes off while I locked the door.
He looked around the room and I could see the smirk on his face. "Candles, slow music— you ain't invite me over here to talk, did you?" He watched as I stepped closer to him with a smirk. The same feelings I had earlier when I seen him just a few hours ago came rushing back in.
He looked good and smelled even better. Like always, everything was in perfect place. Every hair on his face, every chain on his neck and every ring on his finger just sat in perfect place.
